-Says, Before His Governorship, Imo State Was An Embarrassment & Associated With Deities.
-As The Prelate Commends His Good Works & Says, Those Who Like To Share The Money Won’t Support Him.

Governor Rochas Okorocha says he has forgiven politicians in the state and even in the South-East who branded him “Boko Haram” because he was part of the merger that gave birth to APC, adding that the name – calling got worst during the campaigns for the 2015 elections during which he was also called “Alhaji” in Government House, and also accused of working with Mohammadu Buhari to Islamize the Igbos.

Governor Okorocha spoke when Senior Priests of the Methodist Church of Nigeria led by its leader in the country His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Kanu Uche paid him Courtesy Call on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Government House Owerri, adding that even the Chapel he built inside the Government House was branded Mosque because his opponents did all they could to incite the people against him but said, the more they did all that, the more Imo people appreciated him.

He said that, it gives him cause to be happy today that what he saw that made him to take the political risk of joining the merger that metamorphosed into APC, most Igbo leaders are today seeing it, adding that he has forgiven all those behind the blackmail or those behind all the propaganda.

Governor Okorocha also said that the situation in Imo before his governorship was embarrassing with nothing to show that Imo was a state, and with the state being associated with deities like Otamiri, Nworie, Ahiajoku and so on, but he decided to rebrand the state which also occasioned the rumour that he was slapped by one of the deities (Nwaorie).

His words, “when I came in here as governor, it was an embarrassing situation to see that even the Government House was full of shanties. The entire environment was filthy. We have to clean up the place and make it look like a home for business. I have two years left as a governor, I am not building the state for myself, but for governors and citizens even yet unborn. This is the spirit with which I have come to this state”.

He continued, “There was also a systematic handover of the state to deities before I came in, and I said I have come to bring light and that light has come with our projects scattered all over the nooks and crannies of the state. We have embarked on urban renewal and have to remove shanties and create the eight lane roads you are seeing now though with challenges from the elite. But today, people are happy”.

According to Governor Okorocha, his government “also came and brought in federal presence by using certain strategies including provision of facilities and donating to federal agencies and forces like the Airforce, Navy, Police and Army. We have also assisted the Catholic Church to build Catholic University in Orlu LGA which is in progress. The state would also like to partner the Methodist Church to build Methodist University in the state. We have also built International Cargo Airport all in the bid to attract federal presence”.

Earlier, His Eminence Dr. Uche told the governor that they were in the state for two days apostolic visit to the churches, and said he was happy with the governor’s visionary leadership, pointing out that his radical transformation of the state was commendable.

The Prelate reminded the governor that those who like to share money won’t appreciate what he is doing in the state but the less privileged who benefit from these Projects and Policies like the free education, would be the ones to appreciate him.

He urged him to remain focused and should not allow himself to be distracted.

The latest has just busted. Popular Nigerian Musician Blackface, has declared his intension of suing 2face. In a recent interview with Premium Times, Blackface told newsmen:
"Yes, I have; and my legal team is working on that, as that’s the best way to go. When I accused them, they lied and said its ‘unfortunate’. I said they took my song and then even said maybe my account was hacked. Well, if you thought so why didn’t you pick up your phone and say “Yo black... What’s going on?’ But, no they won’t because they wanted to steal it and it backfired, and they trying to act ‘holy’ so they make flimsy excuses. 2face and his manager planned all of that. 2face sang my song (Let Somebody Love You) and featured an American artiste, Bridget Kelly. His manager published it without my permission. Till today they haven’t deemed it fit to tell the world that they tried to assassinate my character in the media but that couldn’t be justice and they know. So, the court is our only option as they keep avoiding meetings thinking that with time it will all fade off. But, they know not what tomorrow holds and neither do I.”

It could be recalled that when 2face released his latest track titled ‘Holy Holy,’ Blackface took offence, claiming that the song was directed at him. Just recently, Blackface has come to claim that 2face and his manager stole the song ‘Let Somebody Love You’ (ft Bridget Kelly) from him. Blackface has always claimed that 2face’ biggest hit the song African Queen was written by him and as a result of this, he and his legal team are putting plans in place to sue 2face and his manager.

On Tuesday, a counsel for the EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that the commission had changed its mind about appealing the unfreezing order and was withdrawing its earlier application on stay of execution.Patience’s lawyer, Ifedayo Adedipe, confirming the development, told Justice Olatoregun that the EFCC’s counsel had served him with the EFCC’s application to withdraw its application for stay of proceedings.
