Popular Nigerian Actress and Mother of three, Mercy Johnson has taken to her Instagram to celebrate her husband who turned a year older today.

In a birthday message she posted on Her Instagram, she wrote:
Every woman’s fate changes once they get married cus two destinies mix but my destiny can’t cry on me cus ur love is with me.
I have memorised you like a verse in the Holy Bible and I mention you like a prayer.
True love means everything ,but for me True Love Simply Means You.

You understand me even when I say nothing. We have used Trust as brick and Patience as a Cement to build our home,as sometimes love isn’t enough.
Everyone falls in love yet not every love is passionate but you are the Fragrance in my breath.

I am certain that I can live a few moments without breathing but I can’t live without you as every breath I take, reminds me of You.
I love u,not for a moment nor for a day but for a lifetime.
I love u so much that my heart skips of excitement
I don’t want to be ur Need,I want to be ur desire.

Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has condemned in strong terms, the registration of underaged in some parts of the country in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration CRV, exercise.
They further lampooned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for supervising irregularity of such magnitude, hence called for the immediate resignation of the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu alleging that the commission’s chairman is wallowing in the face of inefficiency, utmost confusion and tribalism.

APGA speaking through its spokesman, Dr. George Nkwoji told newsmen in Owerri yesterday Monday that INEC is incapable of conducting credible polls in 2019 since the commission and its chairman could not conduct reliable CRV. The party therefore called on Nigerians to condemn the ongoing fraud, outright stoppage and cancellation of the exercise as it is fraught with dishonesty. Nkwoji furthered that the exercise has fallen short of transparency in the conduct of government activities, wondering how kids could be found in large numbers, forming long queues in order to register in their Local Government Areas, insisting that it is contradicting the electoral act and constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

He maintained that INEC has by implications, commenced rigging process of the 2019 elections in favour of certain parts of the country, positing that all the evil acts are planned for the continued marginalization of the Igbos to favour other regions.

In this year’s edition of the prestigious Nigeria Prize for Literature, sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited, NLNG, 184 entries were selected, and were handed over to the Advisory Board of the prize.

According to reports, the entries for 2017 edition which focuses on poetry were formally handed over to the Board on Tuesday at a ceremony in Lagos. The hand-over of the entries to the Advisory Board, chaired by Professor Emeritus Ayo Banjo, marked the take-off of the judging process which is expected to climax in October 2017 when a winner will emerge.
Dr. Kudo Eresia-Eke, disclosed that since the inception of the prize in 2004, it has inspired about 1,630 books of which 533, representing 32 per cent, were submitted in the poetry category. “The number of entries for the 2017 edition exceeded the 2016 numbers, showing a six percent rise in the number of entries received and increasing interest in one of the biggest literary prize in the world. This has been the trend since 2005.
“We believe that the prize has inspired writers to want to deliberately win the prize. This has led to the proliferation of books and increased the quality of books. The spiralling effect of this is the boost to literacy and education in the country, the foundation of cultural and socio-economic revolution. The impact of the prize is easily discernible and we believe that it supports our vision to help build a better Nigeria,” he said. The entries will be judged in respect of their merits of excellence in language, creativity and book quality.
And from Prof Ayo Banjo, the entries were in turn, handed over to the panel of judges led by Professor Ernest Emenyonu, a professor of African Studies at the University of Michigan-Flint. Other judges are Dr Razinat Mohammed, an Associate Professor of Literature at the University of Maiduguri and Tade Ipadeola , a poet and lawyer who won the Nigeria Prize for Literature in 2013 in the Poetry category with his third volume of poetry, The Sahara Testament.

Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that contrary to insinuations in some quarters, he does not intend to be president when the Republic of Biafra was eventually actualized.

While addressing newsmen, Kanu said that he always preferred to operate from the background, pointing out that if the pioneer leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike had remained consistent with the struggle, he would not be doing what he is doing with IPOB.

However, Kanu insists that the actualization of a Republic of Biafra was a foregone conclusion, the IPOB leader said he also sympathized with the South East governors and some other political office holders’ position on Biafra, attributing it to their fear of losing their positions and political relevance in Nigeria. He, however, said the fear being entertained by such Igbo leaders was neither here nor there because the Biafra Republic would be founded on the principle of justice, equity and fairness.
