Mr. Solomon Chinonso Ucheka, founder of Pasolo Foundation has been described by youths of Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State as a very sincere and humble son of Nwangele, whose philanthropic nature has distinguished him from others who are aspiring to represent the LGA in the State House of Assembly come 2019.

They said Mr. Ucheka also known as Pasolo, became popular because of his outstanding qualities of sincererity and philanthropic gestures, adding that it would be unfair for anyone from the LGA to pretend not to have felt Pasolo’s numerous philanthropic and development projects across the LGA through his foundation. Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Nwangele, youths numbering more than 80 who spoke through one Chukwuemeka Umunnakwe and Chioma Emeh also revealed that initially Mr. Ucheka had not planned going into politics, but later succumbed to pressure from different quarters and accepted to run for a political office.

The youths who disclosed that Mr Ucheka is admired and cherished by both the young and old in the LGA, vowed to support him morally and financially to get to the state House of Assembly come 2019, urging other aspirants to give him all the necessary support and wait for another opportunity to avoid humiliation.

“Nwangele people are happy with Pasolo because he has put smiles on our faces. He is known for his humanitarian services, human capacity building and youth empowerment. His humanitarian efforts know no bounds, spreading to schools, churches, communities, raising the hope that there is brighter future for Nwangele Youths” they added.

Recall that in 2016, Mr Ucheka through his foundation, commissioned major projects like Umuoma/Umuozu electricity project, water project at Umuanu Amaigbo, Pasolo Foundation Mini Stadium project at central School, Abajah, through his empowerment Scheme, he discovered and empowered the youths of Nwangele on what drives them most.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that the excellent performance  of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has justified  the support he received  from all political stakeholders for his election in 2015.

This is as Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike assured the Former President of the continued unwavering support of Rivers people, saying that he will never be abandoned.

Speaking during the Commissioning of the Second Nkpogu Bridge as part of the second year anniversary of the Wike administration, Former President Goodluck Jonathan said: "Governor Wike has performed wonderfully well ".

He said: "I have no regrets that Governor Wike is the governor of Rivers State.  I am happy that the governor has opened up Rivers State through projects.

"Wike has shown so much commitment to infrastructural development. The whole of Rivers State  is now a construction yard."

The Former President pointed out that the appreciation for the excellent performance of Governor Wike goes beyond party lines.  He recalled that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo after visiting the state also stated that the governor is delivering on projects.

While appreciating the people of Rivers State  for the support they gave him throughout his eight year involvement in national politics, he expressed happiness for the invitation to commission the important Second Nkpogu Bridge.

In his address, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike said that Nigerians after the two years of APC have  seen the difference between good governance  and false promises.

He explained that the decision was taken for Former President Goodluck Jonathan to commission the second Nkpogu Bridge as a clear message to the nation that he will be be abandoned.

He said: "We are not politicians that when anything  is wrong, they sing different song. Rivers State is a different place. When we believe in you, we believe in you. We are different from other Niger Delta states.  We can say it with all authority.

"We cannot come out in the public and begin to castigate our own.  Those of them who do that,  should have a rethink.  For us, it doesn't matter the blackmail  against Jonathan, we will continue  to  back him".

Speaking  further, Governor Wike said: "Those who think that they have  promises from those who  think they own Nigeria should be careful.  They will use you and dump you at the appropriate time ".

Chairman of Monier Construction Company, Senator John Mbata said the company constructed  the two bridges which have linked Nkpogu to the business districts of the state capital.

Commissioner of Works, Mr Bathuel Harrison said that the Second Nkpogu Bridge will resolve the traffic  challenge  in the area.

Governor Wike after  assuming  office constructed the first and second Nkpogu Bridges to link different parts of the state capital.

The All Progressives Congress in the Egbu ward, Owerri
North Local Government Area of Imo State , has suspended
the Commissioner for Agriculture , Petroleum and
Environment , Udo Agoha.

The decision was contained in a resolution signed by
Chairman , Osuji Oguoma ; vice chairman , Nathaniel
Uzodinma ; secretary , James Oparaegwu ; and other
executive members , a copy of which was obtained by our
correspondent on Wednesday .

The party accused the commissioner and one Ukachi Eboh , of
taking part in “ illegal and disruptive activities . ”

The resolution also accused the embattled commissioner of
calling meetings of the ward without obtaining the
permission of the leadership of the party , saying the meetings
were targeted at destabilising APC in the ward.

The resolution was addressed to Governor Rochas Okorocha .
Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday , the
commissioner described his suspension from the party as
“ null, void and of no legal effect.”

According to him, one of the signatories in the resolution, one
Comfort Chiji , is dead , asking how the dead could sign a
document .

Aguoha said he incurred the wrath of the chairman and the
secretary because of his insistence that the 45 bags of rice
given to the ward by the governor should be shared
equitably to the electorate .

He said the chairman and secretary had requested to take
one bag of rice each , but he insisted that according to the
directive of the governor , the bags of rice should be shared to
every member of the party in the ward.

He denied working for senator Ifeanyi Araraume who is a
strong contender for the 2019 governorship election in the
state , saying , “ he ( Araraume ) has not discussed his ambition
with me .

“ He has not called me on the phone . I am only in good term
with his son who is my fellow commissioner "
