*CONGRATULATES His APC LGA Chairman, Sets to Brief Youths of his  Federal Constituency


Hon Engr. Obinna Onwubuariri, member representing Okigwe, Onuimo and Isiala Mbano Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja has expressed satisfaction with Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha's developmental vision, policies cum achievements in the state.
Onwubuariri who stated this while addressing Newsmen at his country-home, Amaraku in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area on Monday also enjoined Imolites irrespective of their political affiliations and ideologies to support the present efforts of Okorocha's led state government aimed at advancing the socioeconomic development and welbeing of the people and state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer and chieftain further advised the people of the state to desist from playing politics of bitterness, segregation and acrimony and to constructively criticize the government and political office holders when it is due and essential.
According to him politics and political positions are only but a platform and opportunity to advance ones political interest with main intent to contribute ones quota to the development of the people and society at large, hence, people should learn to embrace one another in peace and unity as well as imbibe the fear of God and human face in all things that concern politics cum politicking.
"I am not saying that people should not play politics even to the peak of it but that must be done with human face and fear of God. Politics or politicking must have a limit. You don't play politics in everything. People's needs and welbeing should matter must to you.
"Even as I am of PDP but with my position as Federal House member for Okigwe North, I represent everybody in my constituency irrespective of their political parties, PDP, APC, APGA or what have you. Their needs, development and welbeing matters most to me as I have sworn with their mandate to represent them well and to better their lots." Onwubuariri said.
The Amaraku born young politician equally admonished the entire people of Okigwe zone particularly the youths of the area to take full advantage of the forthcoming 2019 election to make a resounding statement on the polity of the state and country at large adding that they should not only ensure that their votes counts for who governs or rrepresents them in any given position but also see that youths occupy most positions.
He also congratulated Nze Obinna Onuegbu (Omo) on his recent appointment as the Acting Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Isiala Mbano LGA saying that such will enhance political awareness and participation of his people as he has no doubt that Onuegbu will deliver for APC.
"Firstly, Omo is my namesake and brother from Amaraku. PDP or APC, I love to identify with any of my brothers that makes success or achievement. For me, brothers come first before politics. So I congratulate him." He said.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Horn gathered that the Rep member is set to host the youths of his constituency for an interactive meeting wherein he would discuss with them on how to move the constituency forward.

The former Governor of Imo State,  Ikedinach Godson Ohakim who paid a surprise visit today to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his family led by HRH Eze Kanu at their residence in Abia state, accompanied by few Imo sons were given a warmth reception by the Kanu’s. African celebrated Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke was also present to served Kolanut and refreshments to the August visitor, who will be delivering a lecture tomorrow  May 23rd at the immortalisation and institutionalization of Igbo Literary Icon, Hero and African legend, Prof Chinua Achebe at the Institute of African Studies University of Nigeria Nsukka .








Following the takeover, last season, of Olympic Park Stadium Stratford, by the English Premiership side, West Ham United FC, Upton Park, the club's former ground is now facing demolition. The ground that formally hosted all home games of the East London club for decades is to be converted to residential buildings, to be known as UPTON GARDEN.







The much publicised and highly anticipated first ever King of the Pool Table Tournament (Snooker Competition), to search for the King of the Game has come to a successful and conclusive end.

The tournament which started on the 18th of May (1st Day), 19th May (2nd Day) and today the 20th of May (3rd Day) with 26 contestants which was competitively reduced to 13 contestants on the second day and eight competitors went for the quarter final, Semi final and ultimately the finals between Bamidele Shehu and Oleribe David.

Mr Bamidele Shehu from Lagos State won the prize money with two straight set victory against Mr. Oleribe David to emerge as the House of Freeda Game Zone King of the Pool Table Tournament, smiling home with total of six hundred thousand naira (N600, 000.00).

The 1st runner up, Mr Oleribe David went home with a hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150, 000.00), while the 2nd runner up, Mr Chinedu Chijioke, went home with the sum of Hundred Thousand naira (N100, 000.00).

The eight competitors for the quarter-finals were rewarded with consolation prizes.

To add glamor to the auspicious event, Imo born rap sensation, and signee of the Five Star Music Records, Xbusta, thrilling the sports spectators with best of rap music.
The event co-hosted by HOT FM sports presenter, Solo Mourinho and Channels Television anchorman, Tope, had in attendance, the CEO of House of Freeda, Mrs Uloma Nwosu (Nee Okorocha), her Husband and Chief of Staff to Imo State government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Secretary to Imo State government, Sir George Eche, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Healthcare Services, Prince Deacon Chike Okafor, Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo, members of the enlarged Imo State executive Council, Sports enthusiasts and Fans of the Snooker game.

It was indeed a wonderful evening of excitements, fun and conviviality.


















Former Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SSG) and a refined Imo State politician, Sir Jude Ejiogu was today, May 20, 2017, inducted as 'Patron' by the lmo State Youth Parliament, an affiliate of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, NYP, at a convention in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

In a brief note, the youth body stated that their choice of Sir Ejiogu came after a thorough consideration of his outstanding contributions to youth development in the State in particular.


Describing him as a sound leader of note, the youths expressed confidence that with Sir Ejiogu as the Patron of Imo Youth Parliament, the body stands to achieve a lot as they will tap from his wealth of leadership experience and will get the right direction, inspiration, as well as motivation to function effectively.

Responding, the charismatic Imo son said that he felt proud of the confidence reposed in him by the body. He promised not to betray such confidence, even as he assured them that he will remain ever committed towards advancing the cause of youths of the State.


The event which took place at Immaculate Royal Hotels, Porthacourt Road, Owerri, had other leaders and a number of young people in attendance.


History was made yesterday as the Ekiti Federal University in Oye-Ekiti has been renamed after the former Military Governor of the defunct Western Region, Major-General Adeyinka Adebayo whose remains were buried at his Iyin-Ekiti country home yesterday.

Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), announced the renaming at a funeral service in honour of the late Adebayo, who was the oldest surviving officer of the Nigerian Army at the All Saints Anglican Church, Iyin-Ekiti.

Osinbajo said the decision to name the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) after Adebayo was in appreciation of the deceased’s selfless service to the country in his lifetime.


Delivering President Muhammadu Buhari’s oration, Osinbajo described Adebayo as an officer and a gentleman indeed, saying his “his military trajectory was in a way a lesson in Nigeria’s history.”
