You could recall that we reported here, a four-man armed robbery gang that stormed Wetheral Road branch of Zenith Bank, Owerri Imo State capital on Wednesday, February, 22, injuring police men and bank customers. One of the armed robbers (pix) was gunned down.

Here is a CCTV footage video of the broad day robbery at Zenith bank opposite Dan Anyiam Standium Owerri, reported earlier this year.

The four armed robbery gang arrived the bank with an ash colour Toyota Camry. The gang were successful in carting away money  though the action of policemen attached to the bank who swiftly responded by gunning down one of the gang foiled the complete operation by the robbers.

The gang were later arrested by the Police.




Zimbabwean man was caught while writing exams for his wife, Mrs. Mbango, during the final grade 12 exams. Mkonzi Mbango was dragged out of the exam room after people spread news that he was pretending to be a woman.

According to Mr. Mbango, he thought of helping his wife to pass the exams because she has been failing for over four years. He has since been arrested. His wife said she regretted the action taken by her husband, adding that they both agreed to cheat. The wife has also been arrested.

Osun State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man, Ajibade Rasheed with fresh human parts in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye while parading the suspect said Ajibade was caught by policemen at Olu-Ode area.

A fresh head of a woman, intestine, lung, virgina, liver and a bottle containing blood were recovered from the suspect in his car with registration no: LSD 987 DJ.

The CP said investigation has commences to identify the victim. He assured that the matter would be properly investigated and that the suspect would be prosecuted accordingly.

Ohaneze Ndigbo, has urged Igbos leaving in the North to relocate only if they feel their lives are not safe anymore. However, another pan-Igbo group, MASSOB, asked Igbos to commence relocation from Northern Nigeria immediately.



This is in reaction to the three months ultimatum issued by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, ACYF, a coalition of socio-political groups in northern Nigeria, to all Igbos in the 19 northern states to vacate the region, although the federal government and the Kaduna State government have since condemned the call, assuring of maximum security while Governor Nasir El-Rufai called for the arrest of the sponsors of the Arewa forum.

In his reaction, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze, Uche Achi-Okpaga, in a statement in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, urged Igbos in the south-east to continue living in peace with everyone.

“At any rate, two wrongs don’t make a right,” he said. “We encourage our sons and daughters to accept every Nigerian and even a foreigner living legally and lawfully in the South-East. We also advise our people living in the North to relocate if your life has been so crystally threatened. It has no spare either.”

The Igbo group blamed President Muhamadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressive Congress for the ultimatum alleging that the AYCF was just following in the footsteps of the president and the party, who have allegedly shown disdain and hatred for the Igbos.



Mr Lai Mohammed, The Minister of Information and Culture, has said that the issue of groups issuing threat of quit notice did not start today and that the Federal Government and security organisations are very much on top of this matter Lai Mohammed Lai Mohammed reacting to the threat issued by a coalition of Northern groups Tuesday that Igbo living in the northern part of the country should leave within three month and that all northerners living in Igbo land to also return to the north.

He said:



“The issue of one group issuing a statement that is capable of destabilising the country and being responded to by another group in another part of the country did not start today and did not start yesterday.”

Meanwhile, world living legend, Oprah Winfrey has congratulated Cynthia Erivo for her great achievement, in a tweet the Color Purple producer Oprah Winfrey wrote: “Tony.. Grammy.. now Emmy. Sister Cynthia take your 3d bow.”

The USA Emmy Grammy Award winner, particularly of Imo descent, you could recall is the first Nigerian in the entertainment industry to come this far.
With Nigeria multiple talents and waves in music had made many unsuccessful attempts through the likes of Femi Anikulapo Kuti, 2Face Idibia, WizKids, Olamide among others to win this award.
Only some Africans had won this greatest global entertainment award since its inception January 25th 1949, they include : Beyonce, Wouter Kellerman, Ladysmith, Youssou N' Dour., Ali Farka, etc.
