The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yesterday Monday 21st August, 2017 paid a visit to the Avutu community,  Obowo LGA, Imo State country home of late foremost Igbo leader and former Governor if the Old Imo State, Chief Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe (PHD) popularly known in Nigeria's political circle as "THE WEEPING GOVERNOR ", and was received by his first SON,  Chief Alex Mbakwe.

Mazi Kanu while reviewing all the achievements of late Mbakwe, shed tears. He also prayed while standing on his grave that he should be a watch Angel on Biafra while at the right hand of God almighty.











President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met behind closed doors with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Being Buhari’s first working day since he returned from London, United Kingdom, on Saturday, it is believed that the meeting afforded Osinbajo the opportunity of briefing the President some of the developments that took place while he was away. The meeting was held inside one of the offices located inside Buhari’s official residence.

Osinbajo had earlier in the day taken part in the national conference of the Nigerian Bar Association which was held in Lagos. Also on Monday, Buhari received in audience at his residence the Nassarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura. Al-Makura was believed to have visited the President to welcome him from his medical trip and congratulate him on his recovery.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legislative Matters (House of Representatives), Sulaiman Kawo, was also seen emerging from the President’s residence at about 1.35pm clutching documents suspected to be Buhari’s letters to the two Chambers of the National Assembly on his resumption of duties.

To forestall ticket racketeering on its Abuja- Kaduna train service, the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has commenced the implementation of Minister of Transportation Mr Rotimi Amaechi’s directive that tickets be issued only to passengers with valid Identification Cards.
The Minister, following complaints from passengers, had recently ordered the redeployment of some railway workers found culpable of hoarding first class tickets at the Abuja station on the Abuja – Kaduna route.
The Minister also disclosed that the Corporation is planning to boost its frequency on the route, saying the Federal Executive Council has approved the importation of 10 Coaches to boost transit services on the Kaduna to Abuja axis. The coaches would arrive before the end of the year.


President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has confirmed receipt of a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the Senate on his resumption after spending 104 days in the United Kingdom for a medical vacation.

Saraki, who was said to be in the UK as of Monday, made the confirmation on his Facebook wall.

His post read, “I have received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the Senate that he has returned to the country. I have also acknowledged the letter.”

Veteran American entertainer Jerry Lewis, whose slapstick comedies like “The Nutty Professor” endeared him to millions, died on Sunday aged 91, Variety reported.

One of the most popular comic actors of the 1950s and ’60s, Lewis perfected the role of the quirky clown but also won acclaim as a writer, actor and philanthropist in a career spanning six decades.
Variety magazine quoted his agent as saying he died in Las Vegas early on Sunday morning.
