Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court, Abuja Monday refused to quash the damaging report issued by the House of Representatives on its investigation of the controversial Centenary City project promoted under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

The report had indicted former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim and other major actors in the handling of the project. In a judgment yesterday, Justice Dimgba dismissed the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/258/2017, filed in the name of centenary City Plc, seeking among others, the voiding of the report.

Justice Dimgba noted that the allegations of bias and bad faith raised against Herman Hembe, who head the House of Reps’ committee that investigated allegation of corruption in the project, was insufficient to move the court to quash the report.

Winger Eden Hazard has been included in the Chelsea squad to face Leicester City on Saturday. Hazard, 26, missed the start of the Blues' season after breaking his anklewhile training with Belgium in June. But he scored in Belgium's World Cup qualifying win over Gibraltar, before a substitute appearance against Greece as his side made the World Cup finals.

Blues manager Antonio Conte said: "I can count on him but I have to decide the right moment and minutes for him." "I think he's improving a lot," added the Italian. "He worked very strong to be ready and he is an important player for us." Hazard was instrumental as Chelsea won the Premier League last season, scoring 16 goals in 36 games but also said in June he would "listen" if Real Madrid offered him a deal.

Conte's side have begun the defence of their title with victories over Tottenham and Everton.

Ngige said this at a mediation meeting which is ongoing at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja. The minister said he was hopeful that the current strike would be the shortest in the history of Nigeria, urging them to immediately call it off.

He said, “Once conciliation starts by the government, no employer has the right to embark on strike. “By going on strike you have breached Section 18 of the Trade Dispute Act of 2004.”

Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar has taken a swipe at the news of Nigeria’s exit of the recession, saying until every Nigerian can eat three square meals daily with little efforts, it is not yet time for celebration. Atiku said this in a series of tweets via his verified Twitter handle.

He had tweeted, “As a Nigerian, investor and employer of labour, the news of Nigeria’s official emergence from the recession is most welcome. “The news is surely a boost for Nigeria — it tells investors, local and foreign, that our economy is worth investing in.

“While we rejoice, it’s also important to recognise that economic weakness at the bottom of the pyramid remains. Inflation is still high.
