Governor Rochas Okorocha has hinted that his administration is to launch an empowerment venture to be christened “My People, My People Empowerment Programme”adding that the essence of the programme is to further reduce poverty in the State to its barest minimum.

The governor made the disclosure on Monday, May 21, 2018 while on inspection of some on-going Projects in Owerri and environs, stressing that in 2011 when he became governor, the poverty level in the state was 57%, but by 2017, the poverty level in the State has come down to 19%, courtesy of his administration.

He therefore explained that, My People, My People Empowerment Programmewould further reduce the poverty level to 5%, recalling that he had promised the people of the State that once the flight gets to a cruising level, that the captain will come out and merry with everyone.

He said, “This time around, we are going to remember the very poor people, poverty level is low in the State but we want to reduce it to the barest minimum. Traders and people who are trying to survive with goods less than 10,000 naira in their shops, forms will be brought out very soon and all that are interested for the empowerment will fill.”.

He further stated, “I will personally supervise the empowerment exercise which will be termed, my people, my people, empowerment. This will help some of our street traders to start a better life and we are targeting 50,000 people across the three zones of the state. This exercise will start between now and September. This will be my parting gift to Imo people”.

On the Urban Renewal Programme the governor stressed “For the landlords that have renovated their houses along Wethedral and Douglas Roads and those making effort to make the city clean, the government shall give them a special package in terms of some kinds of waiver, in property rates and other fees associated with buildings. We are more interested in giving the city a facelift to making more IGR”.

He added “We have also manufactured some special trucks for hawking. So those who are bent on hawking will no longer hawk carrying their goods on their heads. We have about 1,000 hawking carts with uniforms. We give to them and monitor how they use them so as to keep our environment clean.

The reality is that the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu governorship project has gone beyond a stage where anyone can just stop it. There is nobody, of course except God and the people of Imo State, who can stop the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu governorship project. This is because, the idea for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu to become governor was not muted by any individual or even any clique of individuals, but the majority of Imo people, as inspired by the Almighty God.

Those who think that any amount of blackmail will make Governor Rochas Okorocha decide to drop Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as his preferred governorship candidate are clearly deceiving themselves. A top APC chieftain told me sometime last year, that he will carefully hang around because it will get to a time when Governor Okorocha will become so pressured as a result of his support for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, that he will have no option but to drop him. I told this man, then, and I am repeating it now, that Owelle Rochas Okorocha is not the main driver of the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu governorship ambition. God is the Chief pilot of this project and the people of Imo State, especially, the youths who are the second most important pilots of this project. So, if you think that you can by any trick or blackmail get Owelle to stop stop Ugwumba Uche Nwosu from becoming governor, then, you are merely having a bad nightmare.

In the first instance, it wasn't even Owelle Rochas Okorocha who anointed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as his preferred successor, rather a majority of the people of Imo State anointed Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and compelled Owelle Rochas Okorocha to endorse him as his successor. Giving Owelle a condition that he has to drop Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as his preferred candidate is a total waste of time.

Let me reiterate; if you want to stop Ugwumba Uche Nwosu from emerging as governor of Imo State, then you have to stop the entire youths of Imo State, the artisans, the widows, farners, students and all others who are the major drivers of the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu governorship project. You also have to try to stop God, because God is the Chief pilot of this project.

As a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu's governorship campaign will be based essentially on the achievements of the ruling Party, especially, here in Imo State. From the free education policy which has benefited every family in the State, to the massive provision of infrastructure across the State, to improvement on security of lives and properties, to the urban renewal program which has lifted Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe from glorified villages to some of the best and most organized cities in Nigeria, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has a lot of things to campaign with as reasons why the people of Imo State should vote for a continuity of the APC in power.

As an individual, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is coming into the governorship of the State with a huge history of achievements both in his personal business and in public service. Success follows the young man, everywhere he goes and there is no doubt that he will bring more prosperity to Imo people. A seasoned technocrat and chattered administrator, Nwosu is sure to run a very organized system as he will bring his over two decades of experience in cooperate governance and human management into bear in ensuring that Imo moves forward.

The real estate mogul also enjoys massive popularity among all classes of people in the State, especially, among the poor and the youthful population. The Nkwere born savvy investor banks on the support of the people of the State to emerge victorious in governorship election coming up next year and from all indications, he is the incoming governor of the State. This is because a majority of the people have taken a decision to stand with the man who has shown them so much love and made them feel belonged. Stakeholders from across different sectors of the Imo economy are also excited and positively inclined to his governorships ambition. This is because, any of them who has had cause to get involved in any dealing with Ugwumba Uche Nwosu confirms his intelligence, wonderful temperament and great passion for the continued development of Imo State. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a man who believes in carrying everyone along in the running of State business.

Ugwumba Uche Nwosu's support among politicians also cut across Party lines. While, he is going to be the flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Nwosu has his supporters among the highest hierarchy of some of the strongest opposition political parties in the State. His age, integrity, humility and compassionate attributes easily draw people to him.

For majority of Imolites, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu's governorship ambition is a project that anyone that thinks good of the State must be committed to. A peaceful and highly understanding gentleman, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is one of the few Nigerian politicians whom no one can really say he has something tangible against. He is at peace with everyone and even when he is offended by some people, he does not keep such hurts to heart. He forgives easily and carries on like nothing has ever gone wrong.

Chief Innocent Onyendu from Avu in Owerri West LGA of the State recently shared his feelings about Uche Nwosu with some of his friends. According to him; "That young man is a special kind of leader. I have been in politics for a while, but I haven't met a politician that is as genuinely kind as Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. Once I had some issues that needed the intervention of the government to resolve, I ran into him when he came to inspect a construction work going on around my neighborhood, I tried to approach him, but his aides stopped me. 

On noticing my struggles with his aides, he asked that I should be allowed to come and meet him. I told him my problems. He took my details and I actually took it for granted that he has played politics with me. I had almost lost hope with the promise he made to me on that, when after like two months, I received a call from someone in government telling me that the problem had been resolved. After necessary documentations, I got my paycheck, in full." That is actually the kind of person Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is. He has helped thousands of people resolve their problems as a Commissioner and now as Chief of Staff, there is no doubt that as governor, he will be accessible and quite helpful to more and more Imolites.

Most importantly, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu's governorship has Divine unction. His is a Divine Mandate that cannot be derailed by any human. God has seen in Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, that leader who will place more emphasis on lifting the poor, assisting the weak and protecting widows, orphans and the less privileged. God has anointed him, just like He did to King David, to fight for the people of Imo, to consolidate on the gains of the past seven years and also improve where necessary.

Amidst the controversies trailing APC congresses in Imo State,Ugwumba Uche Nwosu the Nkwerre born Chief of Staff to the governor remains the most qualified, competent and best candidate to step into the big shoes of Owelle Rochas Ethelbert Anayo Okorocha in 2019 as governor for continuity and for the overall good of Imolites.

The above state was the submission of Comrade Jeff Nwoha, the Grand Patron of Imo youths and General Manager of Environmental Transformation Company (ENTRACO) while addressing journalists in Owerri last Monday, said that Owelle Rochas Okorocha remains the Governor and leader of APC in the state, firmly in-charge, bearing the banner of the Ugwumba governorship project which no man can stop.

He told Imo youths not to panic as the train is on course stating that “the Ugwumba project is divine and no man born of woman can frustrate what God has designed and those who are fighting Uche Nwosu are only wasting their time”.

According to Nwoha who said he had known Chief Uche Nwosu for a long time and can attest to his qualities, qualifications and capabilities.He further stated that out of all the people aspiring for the coveted seat in Douglas house, Uche is the only one that has the capacity and zeal to transform Imo state and continue with the Rescue Mission agenda initiated by the peoples Governor and Commander of Free Education in Nigeria”.

He went on to assert that Uche Nwosu is a humble, peace loving and articulate leader who knows what the people need and desire hence he is ready and willing to deliver effectively. He urged Imo youths to unite to make Ugwumba Nwosu governor, retorting that those fighting him are enemies of the state whose antics, coalition and plans, should be discountenanced by all Imolites especially the youths whose future is at stake.

Hon. Nwoha argued that apart from the flimsy reasons by detractors and the opposition, that the gentleman is married to Governor Okorocha’s daughter, there is nothing that disqualifies him morally, legally or constitutionally from becoming the next governor describing him as “an accomplished fine gentleman and a patriot.

He further contended that Uche Nwosu’s emergence as governor is what is needed to sustain and protect Okorocha’s many legacies and that so far both the youths and elders have started strategizing and mobilizing effectively to see that this divine mandate of God is not truncated by those who have no love for our people knowing that his emergence will continue to improve the welfare of the people who they have held in bondage for years before the coming of Owelle.
