Ik Ogbonna has explained why he sued the lady that called him homosexual. The vlogger in a video had alleged IK is sleeping with made and upcoming actors in the industry. Speaking to Saturday Beats IK Said his senior colleagues encouraged him to carry out the act, in order for his to prove himself. His words;

“I am not just an actor, I represent Nollywood. Trolling people on social media is growing by the day. They have seen it as a cheap means to get followers on social media. I blame the media to some extent because they hardly celebrate the good things about celebrities. I am a father, these days; our kids are on social media so they get to see these things. I got a lot of calls from my senior colleagues, most of them were really bitter about it. If people feel that they can just come on social media to say whatever they want to say, then they should be ready to face the consequences of their actions.



“There are people out there that would believe anything they see or hear on social media hook, line and sinker without researching or trying to meet the person in question. I have nothing against gay people, everybody can live their life however they want to, but it is wrong to impose sexuality on someone. She made a video with such allegations against me. The video had so much bitterness and anger in it as if she was paid to indict me. The first time I heard about the video was when someone called to ask if I had offended anyone. When I saw it, I laughed over it and I didn’t even think about it so much,” he told Saturday Beats.

The actor stated that although he did not want to ruin anyone’s life with his action but whatever the outcome may be, the lady brought it upon herself.

He continued, “My senior colleagues in the industry advised me not to let it slide, stressing that if something lingers for a long time, it could become a stigma. There is freedom of speech, but even at that, they should be ready to face the consequence. I do not even know the girl’s name; my lawyers are the ones handling the case. They have written to the US embassy and human rights organization. I really don’t want to hurt anybody or spoil anyone’s career but whatever comes out of it; she brought it upon herself. I am not out for her downfall at all. People should learn that you don’t have to bring anybody down to rise in life. I have built my brand to this stage, I started from scratch. Cyberbullying goes beyond what we see on the internet. It has led people to depression,” he added.

The postponement of last Saturday’s election may turn out to be a blessing in disguise in the long run following the discoveries made regarding several alleged plots to rig the elections.

The situation was so obvious that President Buhari had thrown down the gauntlet by stating that anyone who intends to rig the elections and steal ballot boxes are doing so at the risk of their lives insisting that he had instruct security agencies to deal ruthlessly with those found wanting.



“The security agencies have identified hot spots and flashpoints and should be prepared to move. We have made as much arrangement as possible for them as much as the country can afford. Anybody who decided to snatch ballot boxes or lead thugs to disturb the process, maybe that will be the last unlawful action you will take.

“We have directed the military and other security agents to be ruthless. We are not going to be blamed that we want to rig elections,” an obviously angry Buhari had said.

To this end, it came as no shock to many Nigerians when it was announced recently that a car full of tomb printed ballot papers found in a vehicle alleged to belong the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State.

The discovery generates widespread controversy, however, upon further investigation by the Police, it was discovered that the ballot papers were not original and that they were merely specimen used by the party for voters education.

Speaking at a joint Press Conference with the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Sokoto State Police Command Spokesman, Mohammed Sadiq insists that contrary to the initial suspicion of foul play by members of the public when the discovery was initially made, it has now been discovered that the materials were not real and it was mostly used for voters education by the PDP.

“On Sunday the 17th of February, a team of patrolmen led by OC Crack Squad ASP Ibrahim Abaras arrested and brought to the state CID one Shehu Maidamma with sample thumb-printed balloted paper belonging to the PDP, on interrogation it was found out that the ballot papers were only specimen and not real ballot papers.

“In doing so, the police found out that these are for the purpose of enlightenment, they are simply specimen and all parties can have a specimen of ballot papers in order to enlighten the public and these are considered acts of last-minute campaigns,” Sadiq said.

Recently, a PDP support group in Kwara State alleged that INEC officials and the All Progressives Congress (APC) had tampered with the materials meant for last Saturday’s election which has since been postponed.

The group, the Kwara Advancement Initiative stated that INEC was colluding with the ruling APC to rig the elections in Kwara State.

“There are strong indications that sensitive election materials – ballot papers, result sheets, and card readers – transported to Kwara State for the elections and returned to the CBN office in Ilorin have been tampered with by some INEC officials in connivance with APC leaders in the State.

“We wish to draw the attention of the media, observers, civil society groups and the general public to this illegal and undemocratic act.

“We also call on security agencies in the State, particularly the police to urgently conduct an investigation into this matter and ensure that justice is done.

“Kwarans should also be at alert and resist attempts by any political party and the electoral body to manipulate elections in the State. We want free, fair and credible elections in Kwara,” the group said in a statement.

However, INEC has since come out to deny the allegation, speaking to reporters, the electoral body’s Director, Voter Education and Media, Jacob Ayanda, said all sensitive materials have been moved to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in the state for safekeeping, stressing that all the material have not been tampered with and all parties involved can attest to it.

“All the political party agents, media will be there when the election materials will be taken back from the CBN again for the election purposes. It will be counted and the number and materials included would be countered checked by all stakeholders involved. There’s no secret about it.

“No ballot paper has been tampered with. It’s at the polling units that the materials will be opened for all to see. Party agents will be present at every stage of the election process”, Ayanda said.

In view of the present realities of hunger, poverty, violence, joblessness and insecurity in the Nation particularly in Imo State for which there is a public outcry and yearning for the enthronement of good governance, there is therefore the urgent need for the election of a truly God fearing Leader, as Governor of our dear state Imo.

These are the words of Dr. Cosmos Ilechukwu the National Vice President Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Convener Concerned Church Leaders Forum ahead of the Imo Governorship Election slated to hold on the 7th of March 2019.




According to a Press Release by the Religious Father, "The Concerned Church Leaders Forum which is made up of Church Leaders from all denominations in Imo State has risen to ensure that Godliness is enthroned in the Election of the Governor of Imo State, That our Votes count, That our people participate massively in the Election, and that our future is not mortgaged".

The Release reads further, "Consequently, the following templates have been prayerfully designed to guide electorate in the election of the State Governor and other candidates.

1. Fear of God: The Governor should be one that by his/her behavior is adjudged to fear God.

2. Rule of Law, Accountability and Transparency: The expected Governor
of Imo State should be one who will be subject to the constitution of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria to ensure the Rule of Law Accountability and Transparency.

3. Family Life and Status: The person to Govern Imo State should be one that his/her marital life is not questionable but stable.

4. Christian/ Church Commitment: The Governor should be one that has shown unfeigned commitment to Christianity and convincing dedication to his/her denomination without bias against other denominations.

5. Career Impact and Performance: The Governor should be one that performed creditably in his/her career and has made positive impact on the society.

6. Exposure/ Experience at International, National, State and L.G.A Levels: The one to Govern Imo State should be aware of Global best practices; understands the dynamics of National/ State Politics and familiar with issues up to the L.G.A level.

7. Educational Background: The person to Govern Imo should at least have a University Degree or its equivalent.

8. Impact and Contribution to Society: The person to Govern Imo should be one who has impacted the society positively.

9. Political History/ Leadership Qualities: The Governor should be one
that has shown convincing ability to manage material and human resources.

10. Agenda/Vision for Imo: The Governor should show a well articulated vision to solve Imo problems and to ensure her holistic economic and social transformation.

11. Track Record and Public Perception: The Governor should be somebody with good track record and good public image.

12. Local Government Autonomy: The Governor of Imo State should be one that would allow the autonomy of the Local government, to ensure grass root development.

A man who identified himself as Gaius was on Friday caught with INEC sensitive documents and result sheets that gave PDP victory ahead of Saturdays presidential and national assembly polls.

 Mr. Gaius who was apprehended in Umuahia by the police, during interrogation identified his boss as Mr. Chinenye Nwaogu Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on youth and the focal person on N- Power in Abia state. 

The middle aged man who was caught with various INEC sensitive materials including already prepared result sheets and Governor Ikpeazu’s letter heads admitted that the documents belongs to his boss Mr. Chinenye Nwaogu and that he is only on an errand for his boss and the PDP.

He further admitted that the governor was in the know of his mission, asked if he knew the implication of what he has done, he affirmed, but said if he does not carry out the assignment of delivering the documents especially the result sheets to the INEC that his boss will be mad at him and will stop him from further enjoying the federal government N-Power grants that he has been getting.

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a female undergraduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Chitere Okoronkwo, for allegedly killing her boyfriend, Johnmark Osigwe.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said the 20-year-old Okoronkwo was nabbed on Monday at Ama-Wire Urratta in the Owerri North Local Government Area of the state.



According to him, the undergraduate allegedly masterminded the killing of her estranged lover at Nkwo-Orji on August 8, 2018.

The CP said, “Chitere Okoronkwo, 20, of Umualumaku village in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, was arrested at Ama-Wire Uratta in Owerri, Imo State by SARS operatives on Monday.

“She was arrested in connection with the murder of one Johnmark Osigwe, 24, at Nkwo-Orji in Owerri on August 16, 2018. It is important to note that the deceased was a boyfriend to the suspect.

“When their relationship got sour and ended, the girl demanded compensation. The deceased, due to persistent threats to life before being assassinated, had paid N1.8m for shop rent and N2m for interior decoration of the shop to the estranged girlfriend.

“Not done with the threats, she demanded N3m, which the deceased gave through a lawyer. Before the money was finally paid to the lady, he was murdered inside his Mercedes SUV.

“After his death, the lady fled to South Africa. Okoronkwo has confessed that she told a guy that she wanted the victim dead due to their misunderstanding.”

Galadanchi said the suspect would be charged to court at the end of investigation.

Imo East as a zone need a man like Chyma Anthony as the next federal lawmakers because he will use his wealth of experience and international exposure to create massive job opportunities for our unemployed youths which our present representatives and even successive ones could not do. 



The Action Alliance Senatorial candidate for Owerri zone will move the zone forward with sound economic policy that will improve the living standard of living of the people from the area.

The legal luminary cum chartered Arbitrator said that he will sponsor a bill guaranteeing the independence of local government council so that state executive can't disburse elected government without their entitlement nor determine their electoral cycles.

Also, he bring amendments to the public finance like law to ensure that the money meant to execute projects and programme in Owerri zone are judiciously used for the purpose to which it was released for.

Chyma Anthony is accepted in the whole Owerri zone and this is evidence with the numerous endorsement that have greeted his declaration to represent the people in 2019 and has shown that he is trustworthy and sincere in his dealings with ndi Imo East. 

As a legal luminary of international standing, Chyma Anthony has helped in facilitating the appointment of so many Imo youths across the three geopolitical zone in the state and this goes to show that he will not be a senator for only Ikeduru Local government area but the whole of Owerri zone.

It's a truism that what the people of the Imo East need in 2019 is a man like Chyma Anthony, the leading senatorial candidate of Action Alliance party who has shown through his activities that he is the ideal person to take over from his brother and ally, Senator Samuel Anyanwu in 2019.

Ndi Owerri zone both home and in diaspora believes that it is time to separate Paul from Barnabas. Meaning that, it is time to tell the people the nakad truth and allow this man Chyma Anthony to takeover from Sen. Samuel Anyanwu who has given the people of the zone sound and effective representation at the Red chamber of the national Assembly and he will even help to reconnect his people to the national reckoning once again.

It's a known fact that ndi Imo East has vowed to support Mr. Chyma Anthony to become the next senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria because they now know that he is not like other politician who has over the years deceived them with their sugar coated tongue. He is different from the every day politics because his word is his bond and has also proven beyond every reasonable doubt that what he says, he does.

That is why today ndi Owerri zone are clamoring for him to become their senator because he has a track record of service full of achievements and many of the younger ones sees him as a role model and pathfinder of great nobility.

Chyma Anthony has promised to reciprocate the love Owerri zone people has shown him and therefore pledge to serve the people by making himself available in 2019 to service of the zone and would do it with all his powers and might.

Without sounding indifference, Mr. Chyma Anthony is the type of senator the people of Imo East need in all ramifications to better the lives of the people who are gnashing of their teeth as a result of the pains, sufferings and untold hardship the people has faced as a result of having bench warmer as representatives in the national Assembly.

Chyma Anthony is an applicant who have applied to represent the people of Owerri zone and rescue it them from total collapse because he is a man with genuine heart and intention to return the zone back to reckoning where every Dick, Tom and Harry will be given equal opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of Owerri zone.

I therefore urged all Owerri zone eligible electorates to vote Chyma Anthony as a man that deserves the senatorial seat in 2019 and if the zone mistakenly give their mandate to a wrong person, it will certainly spell doom for the good people of Owerri zone.
