We Reject Hon. Sam Osuji and all the APC candidates from Isiala Mbano Local Government Area

The Coalitions of Isiala Mbano Youths met at Central school Amaraku, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday 29th May 2022, to reject the consensus arrangement that produced Hon. Sam Osuji as the APC candidate in the 2023 general.

We wish to make the following resolutions.

1. We wish to state it categorically that we are committed to a ensuring a strong and united Isiala Mbano State constituency devoid of rancor and acrimony.

2. We have looked into the activities of APC party primary assumed elections and condemned in it's totality the consensus arrangement of Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

4. We discovered that Gov Hope Uzodimma sat at the Imo State Government House Owerri, Imo State and in connivance with his bootlickers and media created leaders in different LGs and announced the names of the winners.

3. We demand that Gov. Hope Uzodimma being the leader of APC party in Imo State should allow all the aspirants to test their popularity in a free and fair election in Isiala Mbano, Okigwe zone and Imo State in general.

4. We see the whole exercise by the Gov. Hope Uzodimma as an attempt to witch hunt perceived political enemies

5. We wondered why the Okigwe zone elders council led by High Chief Tony Chukwu and Prof. Maurice Iwu will be championing of equity, fairness and natural justice but went behind to allow the likes of Hon. Chike Okafor of Obollo to go for third term against the people of Ihite Uboma and Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha to go go for second term against the people of Onuimo

6. We equally want the Governor Hope Uzodimma, Prof. Maurice Iwu and Chief Tony Chukwu to bear it at the back of their minds that we shall vote against APC should they not allow a proper primary election in Isiala Mbano and Okigwe zone.

8. We want the Governor Hope Uzodimma and the national leadership of APC to know that the likes of Hon. Sam Osuji, Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha and other APC candidates will loose the general elections.

7. We are fully aware of all the plots by Prof Maurice Iwu and Chief Tony Chukwu to force Hon. Patrick Ndubueze on Okigwe zone people as a puppet that they can control.

8. We place the interest of Okigwe zone above our own personal interest and this is why we want the Governor Hope Uzodimma, Prof Maurice Iwu and Chief Tony Chukwu to know that we shall work against the party at all levels in 2023 general election.

We therefore, want the leadership of the APC to abide by this resolutions if they want to win election in Isiala Mbano and Okigwe zone in 2023.

We enjoin the APC leaders to take into consideration the overall interest of the party and the future well being of the people above personal interest.

Governor Dapo Abiodun says he is holding the position for the people of Ogun State, hours after a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu claimed he helped him become the leader of the state.

In a tweet on his handle, the Ogun Governor said he is not an emperor, stressing that the governorship seat is not an inheritance. “I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance,” the governor said on Friday. “I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”

In his address during a visit to APC delegates in Abeokuta, Tinubu had explained his role in the governor’s victory during the 2019 election. He claimed that APC stakeholders had rejected the Ogun governor but his intervention changed the game. “Dapo that’s sitting down here, could he have become Governor without me?” he said during the event.

“We were at the stadium; they tore all his posters. Even the party flag, they didn’t want to hand over it to him. I was the one who brought it. If he wants to meet God at the right place, he must know that without God and me, he would not have become Governor.”

The All Progressives Congress’ presidential committee has disqualified 10 aspirants from its primaries scheduled for next week.

Chairman of the Committee, John Oyegun, revealed this on Friday.

According to Mr Oyegun, only 13 out of the 23 aspirants screened were cleared by the committee.

He added that only youthful aspirants made the list of cleared aspirants.

However when asked about the identity of the disqualified aspirants, Mr Oyegun declined to disclose the names.

The committee held the screening exercise between Monday and Tuesday this week.

Cleared aspirants are expected to contest the presidential primary at a scheduled special convention in Abuja between June 6 and 8.
