There was confusion in Akwa Ibom State High Court as Uduak Akpan, the first accused in the murder of  Iniubong Umoren, an Akwa Ibom job seeker, was sentenced to death by hanging.

The General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministry (OPM) Port-Harcourt, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has described the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi as the biblical Moses, who will rescue Nigeria.

The cleric, who drummed support for Obi's candidacy, said he will be giving a further explanation on why Obi is the Moses sent to Nigeria by God.

He said: “I Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere OPM thank you all for your nomination and massive votes currently going on.

“I am stepping down from the award of MAN OF THE YEAR and let all those that have voted for me transfer their votes to His Excellency Peter obi.

“He is the best man for man of the year, not me or any other person. He is the Moses that has been sent to rescue Nigeria. soon as I come to Nigeria from my vacation, I will give you more reasons about our GOD sent Moses, Mr Peter obi.

“So today 2 August 2022, I am casting my vote for His Excellency Peter Obi. (Mr integrity). And I will advise others that love our dear nation to do the same. Thank you and God bless everyone.”

"The Orsu Lawmaker, Hon. Ekene Nnodumele has continued to secure the release of innocent Orsu youths who had been detained by the Department of State Security Service (DSS). Most of the young men had been in DSS holding facilities in Abuja and Owerri, the Imo State capital, since sometime last year, after their arrest.

This latest set of Orsu youths were released due to the relentless and never-ending efforts of Hon. Nnodumele, to ensure the unconditional release of all innocent proven Orsu youths wrongfully detained due to the security issues in Orsu LGA and surroundings.

The lawmaker who has been an advocate for peace and tranquility, also extended his sincere appreciation and support to the director of State Security Service (DSS) and commended his swift action, after series of investigations which facilitatated the release of one Mr. Ukwuoma Christopher (Ubahaeze, Awọ Idemili), Agu Chimuanya (Okwu, Umuhu Okabia) and Awuzu Chiedozie (Amiri, Oru East) respectively.

The young men further prayed and thanked the lawmaker for his show of love, kindness and sense of responsibility.

Delta state governor and PDP Vice President candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, is not good enough to lead Nigeria as he doesn't have the requisite experience to be a President.

Okowa shared this thought during an interview with BBC Pidgin English.

“I did not say he won’t have any votes, he will have. But what I’m saying is that he’s not a new candidate. It has not been long since he left PDP. You know he was in APGA before, from APGA he came to PDP. It hasn’t been long since he left (PDP) so he cannot say anything about PDP because that’s where he was before.

“Some of us are still here. At every party, there are good people and bad people. But today’s Nigeria is very troubled and we need the right person. That is why I am appealing to our youths to be wise and vote well, they should not be blinded by the concept of a false change because that is how they raved on Jonathan in 2015.

His (Obi) previous experience is not enough for this one (presidency), it will be hard. His experience is not deep enough. Even as a current governor ruling in a time of crisis, I know how hard it is. I even want to learn under Atiku because he has experience with the federal government. The thing is not easy. For them to have handled the economy at that time and made it something better, offering hope, creating jobs, and filtering the society, was not easy because it’s a bigger thing. So someone is supposed to learn through that. If you look at Obi’s experience you’ll know it’s small.”he said

Popular Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, aka Osuọfia has reportedly rejected a N10 Million offer to endorse Bola Tinubu, APC Presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.

According to sources, the Veteran Nollywood Actor said N10 Million cannot buy his endorsement as 2023 is critical for the collective good of all citizens and would NEVER be sold.

It was learnt that Osuofia was offered the usual 5 million Naira for  endorsement of the candidate,  but he refused. Even when the offer was doubled on account of his worth, he still refused. 

According to him,  not everybody is amenable to the persuasiveness of money.
