Contrary to insinuations that the saboteur comment against Ndigbo by a former Deputy Speaker of House of Representative, Emeka Ihedioha has been wrestled over his purported apology, it is worthy to note that such callous insipid will continue to generate reactions.

Social Analysts had posited that Emeka Ihedioha has a resemblance of Senator Uche Ekwunife who in different fora described the agitation by Biafran apologists as a mere waste of time.

Ihedioha had few months ago while addressing Ndigbo in America, warned them against supporting Mr Peter Obi, the only known Igbo son in the 2023 Presidential race.

As usual, Ihedioha was confronted for his action in America; no doubt, he denied totally because there was no video evidence to buttress the allegation.

Three months after his embarrassing comment against Ndigbo in America, Ihedioha still repeated his disgust and hatred against Ndigbo, now with startling evidence to nail him.

This time, it was in Ghana, while addressing Mbaise people, Ihedioha warned Ndigbo from voting Mr Peter Obi, noting that anyone who dare supports or votes him will be seen as a saboteur.

Looking at the current and previous comments of Ihedioha and his close friend, Senator Ekwunife, a core Igbo person will not struggle to identify the real saboteurs in the midst of the Igbo race.

Now listen, Ihedioha came from House of Representative to the Douglas House, Imo state, but due to his internal hatred against the Igbo soil, the gods did not waste time to boot him out unceremoniously.

For Senator Ekwunife, she has struggled from House of Representative to the Senate, yet all her efforts to clinch the number one position in Anambra state was resisted by the gods.

The saboteur comment of Ihedioha and the “waste of time” struggle for the sovereignty of the Biafra credited to Senator Ekwunife are the highest insults Ndigbo had received in recent time.

The question remains, what shall Ndigbo do with these two ingrates who after benefiting from our land, turned back and stabbed the hand that fed them.

In a well structured clime, the kind of Ihedioha and Ekwunife will be ostracized for committing a serious taboo against the soil that binds them.

Samdaddy is a trending name in Imo today. But that is because the national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sen Samuel Anyanwu, broke the pod for the forthcoming general election as he flags off his working visit in Imo state. I call it an audacity.

Not minding he is from the state, coupled with the sponsored media attacks by disgruntled individuals in the party who feels threatened by his present position in the national working committee, the Ikeduru born political marverick touched down Imo to interface with his kinsmen, members of the state executive committee of the party.

Many in his capacity will tend to take the path of hypocrisy, playing a cloak and dagger game just to get back at their perceived political rivals but Samdaddy is an exception.

Sen Samuel Anyanwu has no patience for such underground ploy. He visited Imo state chapter of the party on a working visit alongside some select NWC members.

Some, would have been reluctant and preferred to visit their state later in order to express their ill feelings over the disrespect on the office they occupy, predictably.

A man has a right of choice.

If you have a legacy, as he has aplenty,  It is hypocrisy not to express it. Samdaddy is a man of many parts. A good man as chorused by the leadership of Imo state PDP executive committee in Owerri on Saturday at the party secretariat.

While addressing members of the Party's State Executive Committee, Senator Anyanwu explained that the visit was part of his official responsibilities aimed at interacting with various States Executive Committees to find solutions to their challenges. According to him, " it is my obligation to ensure that the Party is strengthened and repositioned in Imo State and the entire South East.

He also dispelled the insinuations from some skeptics about the preparedness of the PDP to go into the 2023 general elections. For him, the Party is fully prepared to take the seat of power in Nigeria.

He recommended that the State Executive Committee in Imo should bring all the 2023 candidates of the PDP in the State under a unified campaign structure and management, noting that it will make it easier and more cost-effective for all the candidates.

He said the Party has all the opportunities to win the forthcoming elections in the State, and appealed to Party Leaders to take advantage of the Party's strengths and opportunities to ensure that PDP returns to power in the State.

The PDP National scribe seize the opportunity to appeal to all aggrieved party faithful who participated in the last Imo PDP primary election to support all candidates of the party and ensure their victory in their various wards and LGAs. And that's Samdaddy for you. A true democrat, selfless leader and amongst all, a bridge builder.

The disturbing flood menace in the city of Owerri, the Imo state capital is a problem yet to be solved.

This is after the state government claimed to have invested millions in the construction of an underground balloon to check mate and contain the flood.

Painfully, residents of Chukwuma Nwoha, Aladinma, Prefab and Housing Estate axis are devastated that they sleep with one eye closed especially, when there is a heavy down pour in the city.

The questions social Analysts are asking is whether there is a hidden secret the state government has not told its citizens. This is after the said underground balloon was commissioned by a top APC government functionary from Abuja last year.

While this article is not meant to attack government or any sector involved, but will serve as a probing pointer to whom it may concern if there is still a hidden truth yet to be aware by the citizens regarding the ill fated balloon project.

It is presently annoying and embarrassing too that the flood menace is not only witnessed around Chukwuma Nwoha, Aladinma, Prefab and Housing Estate axis, but a monster that has eaten deep into the fabrics of every adjoining routes and locations in Owerri, the state capital and the state at large.

From Orji, Mbieri road, down to Akwakuma, Amakohia, World bank area, to adjoining streets in Owerri town to Egbu road, through Douglas, Okigwe roads to Mbari and Bank road, close to Government House, amongst others, the pathetic and disturbing story has remained the same.

Given the background of the whole scenario, one wonders why virtually all the enclaving routes or locations in Owerri is submerged by the surging flood without both the previous and present government doing anything to remedy the situation.

Social Analysts or pundits had opined that most internal and external structures put in place by the administration of Dr Samuel Mbakwe for the purposes of controlling flood related issues in the state was either destroyed or catered away by successive governments.

This is to say the least that Imo state nay, Owerri that used to be the cleanest city in Nigeria with consecutive awards has become a laughing stock today.

A city rescued and retransformed by the likes of Barr Willie Amadi of Clean and Green Initiative has become the cynosure of negative imprint in the eyes of the world for reasons yet to be told.

It is remarkable to note that one of the cardinal objectives of any healthy and virile administration is to create good working and healthy environment for the citizens; but what is obtainable today, is indeed an irony of excellence.

Curious citizens are of the view that things have fallen apart; and the government has tried its highest best without tangible results. Another set of pundits posit that going by the muteness of the current government to the plight of its citizens, it seems that the whole situation has overwhelmed the APC administration, and therefore suggested the need for an urgent external assistance.

It is on the records that bad and unhealthy environment breeds and encourages both endemic and pandemic diseases. The solution to this imminent outbreak of disease in the state is a problem government should find immediate and final solution without further delay.

Construction of roads is good, building of infrastructures is good also, and dredging of Orashi river is absolutely in order, but rescuing residents from the current flood quagmire and endemic catastrophe is indeed, what the citizens are yearning for.

By so doing, we shall be expecting Imo of our collective dreams!

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State have taken a swipe at a former lawmaker, Emeka Ihedioha for attacking the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu after he visited the state Working Committee to interact with them on party’s way forward.

The leaders who issued the warning under the auspices of Imo PDP Stakeholders League asked Ihedioha to cover his face in shame for hijacking monies realized from primaries and meant for the offsetting of salary arrears of staff of the party in Imo.

In a release signed by High Chief Nicholas Osuigwe (Coordinator), Barr Chukwuka Ibekwe (Secretary), and Lolo Joy Ngharamike (PRO) respectively, the group said that due to the hijack of party funds by Ihedioha and cohorts, PDP could not pay its staff salary for over year.

The statement reads:

IMO PDP STAKEHOLDERS LEAGUE

24 Hours After Visit To Imo SWC Members: Ihedioha Unleashes Media Attack On Senator Anyanwu, PDP

It is regrettable to inform our party members, leaders, critical stakeholders and the public that twenty four (24) hours after our National Secretary, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu met with the members of the State Working Committee of PDP in Imo state on a one day working visit, Chief Emeka Ihedioha has unleashed media attack to give the visit a bad impression with a view to embarrassing our party and its National Scribe.

We are appalled that all efforts by party leaders to bring good name and membership boost to PDP has always been viewed by Chief Ihedioha and his supporters as threat to their political future, hence the only way to remain on ground is to destabilize our party at all cost.

It is worthy to remind our leaders, critical stakeholders and committed members that the visit to the state party secretariat by the National Secretary has been described by Chief Ihedioha and his supporters as the return of a prodigal son.

Painfully, during the visit to our party office, the state Chairman, Engr Charles Ugwuh, Secretary, Nze Ray Emeana and the Organizing Secretary, Law Biaduo separately gave stricken revelation that the party’s staff have been owed for over one year salary without anyone saying anything, including Ihedioha, who parades himself as the owner of Imo PDP.

It is regrettable to inform our teaming supporters that this is happening after the said Emeka Ihedioha has held our party structure on the jugular by hijacking all monies realized from the sale of forms, few months after the party’s primaries in the state.

We are aware that some of the monies earmarked for the purposes of offsetting the salary arrears of our party staff was ceased and diverted to private use by Emeka Ihedioha and his cohorts.

It is therefore shameful that after claiming to be the sole “Lord” and leader of our party in the state, Emeka Ihedioha has not deemed it fit to release or donate any dime to the SWC to assist in offsetting the salary wage bill of our party staff. The most painful part of it is that most of these staff have families they cannot carter for again due to this inhuman treatment by Ihedioha.

Our pain is not that Emeka Ihedioha has successfully made away with all funds meant for our party, but his continued insistence that he will not release any dime to enable the leadership of our party in the state pay the staff is most unwholesome and wicked.

It is our firm belief that PDP is currently in dire need of funds, and we thank the National Secretary, Senator Anyanwu for donating N7 million to party members and N500, 000 to the staff of our party as urgent palliative respectively.

We also warn members of the SWC not to allow Emeka Ihedioha any access to the N7.5 million donated by our National Secretary during the one day working visit, as doing so will amount to complicit and betrayal of trust reposed in them at this critical time.

As leaders and members of Imo PDP Stakeholders League, we condemn the attitude of Emeka Ihedioha and his supporters for doing everything possible to drag our party image to the mud.

Signed

National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has stated the party’s readiness to have a landslide victory in the 2023 elections, and charged members to rise to occasion.

Senator Anyanwu disclosed this weekend during a one day working visit to Imo state in company of select members of the National Working Committee of the party.

In his address made available to newsmen, Senator Anyanwu maintained that the visit was to interact with various states executive committees with a view to finding lasting solutions to problems that may destabilize the party if unattended to.

He said, “it’s a major responsibility and obligation I owe to my state particularly, the South East to ensure that our party is strengthened and positioned to sustain its stronghold in the Zone. There is no mistaken the fact that the South East Zone is a strong base of PDP despite the circumstances surrounding the loss of Imo and Ebonyi states to the APC. It is something we must all work assiduously to recover in the coming elections”

“There have been wrong insinuations from some skeptics about the preparedness of our party to go into the 2023 elections. My answer to that is that our party is fully prepared.”

Anyanwu therefore regretted the level of media attacks against him without reason, adding that such attacks were only targeted at distracting his vision for service delivery.

“It is on the records that my position as the National Secretary has suffered the greatest disrespect only from Imo state. Since my emergence and assumption of office, every effort has been made severally by some disgruntled individuals to malign my person. It bordered me that in all the attacks and misleading allegations, the party in Imo state did not make any attempt to call me for clarification on the issues I was accused of. I see such as part of the orchestrated mischief to destabilize our party but I was never deterred because I knew, I am innocent”

The PDP National Scribe also urged the leadership of the party to solve party problems administratively without taken side, noting that issues of threats of dismissal to any officer of the party must stop.

Anyanwu therefore advised that as a party in opposition, every efforts must be made to attract membership that would help strengthen the party, appealing to SWC members to work towards reconciling aggrieved members to avoid loosing them to other parties.

Reacting, State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Charles Ugwuh pledged the party’s resolve to support the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu in ensuring that he succeeds.

According to Chief Ugwuh, the only way for the party to win the 2023 election was to massively support Senator Anyanwu, adding that all indices show that he would deliver and bring victory to PDP in the state.

“On behalf of Imo PDP, we shall do everything possible to support you and ensure that you deliver and bring victory to our party. We are convinced that you are a great son who is always ready to make a change and bring unity, cooperation and cohesion to our party”

Chief Ugwuh further called on members of the party across the state to close ranks with the National Scribe, expressing optimism that PDP would emerge victorious if he remains on the front burner of the party.

Adding his voice, State Secretary of the party, Nze Ray Emeana said that anyone undermining the position of the National Secretary of the party or his person for any reason was only out for a fruitless venture.

While describing Senator Anyanwu as a good man who is currently the eye of the party, further thanked him for charging party members to embark on membership drive to boost its chances of victory in 2023.
