Respected Scholar, elder statesman and nationalist, Prof Titus Uzondu Nwala has said that those that purportedly endorsed Hope Uzodinma for a second term are known APC card carrying elders, who took the action to guarantee their stomach infrastructure.

Prof Nwala therefore described the action as not only a charade, petty, childish, irrelevant and a huge joke, but an exercise in futility.

He said that a boardroom meeting that had known APC card carrying members like, Chief Cletus Ilomuanya, Louis Alozie, Chief Jude Obidegwu, Sir Mike Obioha, Chief Alex Mbakwe, Engr Sonnie Hart-Ibeh, Chief Eze Akano, Prof Osy Nwebo, Chief Henry Njoku, and Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, in attendance, who are known politicians has more to be desired.

According to the Varsity Don who is also an Imo indigene, the purported endorsement of Senator Uzodinma was only carried out by his party members and should not be seen as a decision taken by the entire Imo elders.

Nwala, a known advocate of good governance said that if reasonable elders were involved in considering the unity of the state, they would have looked into the Imo charter of Equity and endorsed an Owerri candidate for Governor.

Prof Nwala further revealed that information available to him showed that those championing the endorsement charade were induced with N2 million each, adding that instead of them to canvass for a credible person to rescue the state from insecurity, and economic woes, the APC elders were busy paving way for Uzodinma.

He regretted that those behind the purported endorsement of Uzodinma for second term from Orlu and part of Okigwe zones have never accessed their homes in the last one year due to incessant killings and kidnapping occasioned by insecurity.

He therefore wondered what benefits those endorsing a man that is incapable of protecting the lives and property of Imo people would derive, and challenged them to go to their respective villages and stay for an hour now that insecurity is over to prove him wrong.

The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State chapter, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has attributed his victory at the just concluded Governorship Primary election to God.

Anyanwu made this remark during his victory speech at his hometown Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area days after he was declared winner by the Electoral Committee Panel that conducted the exercise on April 12th, 2023. 

Anyanwu who was accompanied by family relatives, Political associates, party chieftains and supporters in Thanksgiving at St Columba Catholic Parish, Amaimo, expressed gratitude to God for emerging victorious as the Standard bearer of Imo PDP ahead November 11 Governorship election.

"With utmost humility and gratitude to God, I thank my party faithful and delegates for the confidence reposed in me by voting me in the just concluded party primary".  This reflects the supreme will of the Almighty God as an overwhelming sacred mandate of the people.”

"When I received the massive clamour by the good people of Imo State to come and serve them, I persevered with the support of my immediate Political family, the Divine Mandate Movement and support of critical stakeholders of our great party till this divine moment. This is a Divine journey whose time has come. To God be all the glory and adoration."

He thanked the leadership Campaign Council, Divine Mandate Movement, whom he said worked very hard by taking the message of his aspiration across the 305 Electoral Wards in the State.

"We are humbled by the massive support of stakeholders across the 27 LGAs of the state."

Anyanwu further commended his friends and associates for their unflinching support while promising to work hard to recover Imo from insecurity and starvation.

The PDP Candidate also honored the memory of those who died as a result of prevalent security situations under the present administration and promised to avenge their demise by ensuring he secures the state and return peace to the land.

He said: "At this moment, we must remember all those who died as a result of insecurity, especially the killings recorded in some communities Orlu Zone, as well as Okigwe zone by yet to be identified gunmen.

While praying God to grant their souls eternal rest, Anyanwu called for support across the state to be able to reclaim and secure the state from comatose.

In a letter jointly signed by Mr Peter Ijwo, Director of Operations and Mr Dirijo D. Dahni, Admin Officer, Abuja Municipal Area Council and availed to our correspondent disclose; "We are pleased to inform you that you have been unanimously endorsed amongst eminent Nigerians, Leaders and Public Servants for the distinct honour of being immortalized by naming a street (in your name) within the Abuja Municipality, Federal Capital Territory.  

Your endorsment was purely based on personal merit, hence in recognition of your outstanding contributions and commitment to the society and National Economy. Undoubtedly, FCT-Abuja remains the epitome of our continuous corporate existence. 

The intent behind the naming of the street after achievers is to memorialize their efforts and to promote awareness of the individual and express appreciation for their special contributions to the nation. Subject to your acceptance of this nomination, kindly confirm your formal response, the statement disclosed.

Our correspondent gathered that the street named after Ekechi is located in Kaura district and accessed through St Christopher Catholic Church, Games Village, Abuja.

Meanwhile, the news of the naming of the street after Ekechi has been greeted with commendations by friends, relatives and associates of the Imo State born financial guru and bank Executive. 

Ekechi according to report is a philanthropist and leadership coach who have continued to impart positively on young Nigerians across the country.

The Youths under the umbrella body of Imo Youth Mandate has endorsed an American trained lawyer and media expert, Attorney Dr Charles Chibuike Onyirimba for Imo Governorship in 2023 based on his verifiable track record of excellence in public service and administration.

The Imo youths went further to appeal to other aspirants  jostling to pick up the party ticket to step down for Attorney Dr Charles Chibuike Onyirimba as they consider him as Mr. Peter Obi's replica in Imo State.

We wish to make the following resolutions. 

1. We have viewed and analysised all the aspirants in labour party Governorship race and no is to be compared to Attorney Dr Charles Chibuike Onyirimba in terms of leadership and administration.

2. We are fully aware that  Attorney Dr Charles Chibuike Onyirimba has distinguished himself and proven his mettle in the international community hence we adopt him as our sole candidate for the primary election.

3. We are happy that Imolites has seen that Labour Party is the only political party that can rescue the people from the political bondage today we have found ourselves in the state.

Attorney Dr Charles Chibuike Onyirimba has shown through his actions and inactions of his readiness, preparedness and willingness to govern the good people of Imo state in the November 11 Governorship election in 2023.

Attorney Charles Onyirimba's desire and determination to govern his people was borne out of his genuine intentions and resolve to offer the people of the state good governance and channel a good leadership roadmap for ndi Imo after him.

The media expert and the people's attorney is hungry to govern the good people of Imo state because of his international exposure and belief of the western ideals which will be very much handy for him as an American trained lawyer and a renowned administrator of high repute.

The humanitarian has demonstrated his passion, comitement, dedication, forsightedness and desire to offer himself for the good of the people of Imo state who are yearning for a true servant with human face.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba understand fully well that the people of the state has suffered greatly as a result of the poor governance, lack of administrative acumen and passion to deliver on their campaign promises and he is willing to change the narratives in 2023 if given the mandate of the people.

The Imo Governorship hopeful is exactly what the people of  needs going forward because as a trained lawyer and media expert, he will use the two qualities to his own advantage to make Imo the center of attraction in Nigeria.

It is a fact known that Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba will not be a pushover in government given the obvious fact that he has mastered the true value of leadership because of his exposure in the international community. 

The Imo Governorship seat will not swallow Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba the way it has swallowed successive Governors that has led the state because of his understanding of governance.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba will help the good people of Imo state to recover and fix the state to what a state should be.

The Ehime Mbano born American trained lawyer and media expert is one man I know that is always ready, willing and hungry to change the face of Imo state with his own personal resources talk more of having the opportunity to be the Governor of the people, that means he will do the needful by making sure that the state works again in every strata.

I am of the opinion that for the interest of what the good people of Imo state will gain and benefit in governance, Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba should be supported as the sole candidate of Labour Party for the November 11 Governorship election in Imo State.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba is tested and trusted and he will never disappoint the people of Imo state and Labour Party if given the people's mandate and he will pursue the common good of the people of the state.

The people of Imo state and Labour Party respectively have the opportunity to correct the mistakes of sending misfits to govern the state in 2023 if only they will look in the direction of Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba is a politician that has remained in constant touch with the people despites the series of setbacks he has suffered since he brought himself to represent the peoplepy till date and he has not abandoned the people nor failed in any of his responsibility as a man of the people.

The forthcoming Imo Governorship election should be a period for the people of Imo state to have a rethink of the kind of personality they want to entrust their mandate with. The Labour Party seems to be the party with the brightest opportunity to rescue the state from the ruling party misdeed in the state.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba seems to be the candidate that has the capacity, credibility and competence to wrestle power from the incumbent, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The Imo Governorship hopeful should be applauded and appreciated for his genuine love and Passion for the general good of the people of Imo state.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba has demonstrated in a clear term that he has the general interest of the people of Imo state at heart and no wonder he has a good number of the people of the state in his payroll and has a given many students scholarships both in Nigeria and abroad.

The people of Imo state needs a goal getter like Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba who will fix his eyes on the ball the very moment he is in the eighteen yard box and strike immediately the ball is with him and I am sure he has not missed any striking opportunity that comes his way. 

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba will use his ability and capacity as a trained communicator expert and it's skills like lobbying and persuasion to attract many things for the good people of Imo State from the Federal Government and this is why all men and women of good conscience should key behind him in his desire to clinch the Labour Party ticket.

Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba represent the best opportunity for the people of Imo state and Labour Party to get a well organized administrator to handle the affairs of the state. 

As a trained communicator and attorney of the law, he knows his onion, he will make sure that the good people of Imo will be happy once again.

He will end the era of god-fatherism, poor governance and inject fresh ideas that will actually move the state forward and compete favourable with other states of the federation.

It is time the people of Imo state to come together irrespective of political party to give  Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba the full support and backing he needs to clinch the Labour Party ticket and win the election for the people of the state proper.
