The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted a mix of sunshine, cloudiness, and isolated thunderstorms from Monday to Wednesday across Nigeria. Northern states will see mostly sunny skies with isolated afternoon thunderstorms, while the central and southern regions are expected to experience cloud cover, thunderstorms, and moderate to heavy rainfall.

NiMet urged caution, warning of strong winds and advising residents to secure loose items, avoid driving in heavy rain, and stay safe during storms. Airline operators are advised to seek region-specific forecasts for flight planning.

The late elder statesman and former Ohanaeze Ndigbo President -General, Chief (Engr. Dr. ) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has left behind a final Will that bans his wife, Lolo Frances from remarrying.

The document, released on June 16, 2025, and managed by Will administrator Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), outlines how the respected businessman and politician’s wealth is divided among his immediate family and select beneficiaries. Among the key highlights is the inheritance of the iconic “Legacy House” on Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, willed to Frances with a strict instruction that the house must never be sold.

In addition to the residence, Frances received ownership of Magil Furniture—once run by Iwuanyanwu’s late first wife, Eudora—and partial ownership of real estate holdings in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze in Imo State. But the Will comes with a firm condition: any move by Frances to remarry would result in automatic forfeiture of all these properties.

Their son inherits the Abuja residence, while the London property is slated for sale. The proceeds from that transaction are to be divided with 60% earmarked for the education of Iwuanyanwu’s youngest son, 30% to his first son, Jide, and 10% to Ezinne, who currently resides in the property, to aid in securing a new home.

A major philanthropic gesture within the Will is the decision to convert the “Glass House” near the Orji flyover into a public trust managed by an independent board, dedicated to charitable and community causes. Meanwhile, other valuable assets located in Abuja, Imo, and across Nigeria were fairly allocated among his five children, who have collectively described their father’s final instructions as “honorable and just.”

There’s no way to sugarcoat this. Heartland FC, the pride of Imo State and once a fearsome name in Nigerian football, is staring at relegation for the third time in six years under Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration. The club is languishing in 17th position with just a point separating her and Akwa United on 18th whom they play this weekend in a make or mare match. It’s not just shameful. It’s disastrous.

How does a club with such history, such loyal following, and such emotional investment from its people keep getting relegated under the same leadership? Heartland has now gone down thrice since Uzodimma became governor. The club had its first taste of relegation in 2016, again in 2022, and most recently in 2024. Unconfirmed reports even suggest that a staggering 500 million naira was allegedly paid to the league management body just to have the club reinstated after the last relegation. That wasn’t progress. It was patchwork. Desperation disguised as intervention. And here we are again, dangling at the edge of another fall.

The tragedy is not just in relegation. It is in the collapse of structure. Heartland FC is not just suffering poor results. It is suffering abandonment. The players are owed salaries. The coaching crew is demoralized. The management is chaotic. There is no vision. No direction. No ambition. This is not a football club struggling with form. This is a football club being buried under the weight of neglect and bad leadership.

And leadership is exactly where the buck stops.

Take a look at Abia State. That state has not one, but two clubs; Abia Warriors and Enyimba International, competing in the Nigeria Professional Football League. Not just participating, but thriving. As of now, both clubs sit comfortably in 3rd and 6th positions on the league table. Enyimba, Nigeria’s most decorated club, is still a force. Abia Warriors, though younger, is a well-run and competitive team. If Abia can successfully fund, organize, and inspire two professional clubs to compete for the league title, why is Heartland our only representative, with all its rich history, fighting relegation every other season? It boils down to one thing: leadership.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia is fully aware of his responsibilities. He understands that governance is not about flying in and out of Abuja for endless, often fruitless meetings. It is about being present. About building systems that work. About paying attention to the things that matter to the people. You can see the reflection of his leadership in the way Abia’s institutions are run, including its football clubs.

Can we honestly say the same about Governor Uzodimma? Since taking office, has he watched Heartland FC play a single home game? Has he visited the Dan Anyiam Stadium to experience what the people feel? Does he even know the league position of Heartland? It’s entirely possible he doesn’t. That’s how far removed he is from the everyday realities of governance. He appears absent. Detached. Out of sync with his responsibilities. And the consequences are visible, on the pitch and beyond.

A study of Imo's budget for sports for this year is N1.585billion as capital expenditure and N1.352billion as recurrent expenditure. Given that other than football, other sports aren't given attention by the Imo State government, one is therefore left to wonder why they club is still underfunded and poorly managed. With such a large amount allocated to both capital and recurrent expenditures, one would expect the club to be well-funded and able to function optimally. Yet, the reality is that the club has been starved of the resources necessary for its upkeep, player acquisition, training, and general operations. The mismatch between the available funds and the management of these resources raises serious questions about the sincerity of the state government.

And yet, the people of Imo love Heartland. I have been to Dan Anyiam Stadium thrice this season to support our club. I saw both old and young cheering the team. Football is more than a game. It is community. It is healing. It is economy. It is empowerment. And if the Uzodimma government cannot see this, then what exactly do they see? But you wouldn't stay long in the stadium before you figure the core challenges of the team- funding and leadership. A little funding. A little vision. A little leadership. That’s all. But here we are again praying for arithmetic to save us. Simply put, if Heartland fail to get a least a point in their last match of the season against Akwa United, they'll be relegated.

Imo State is crawling while others are moving. Education is in ruins. Agriculture is dead. Commerce is comatose. Sports are struggling. Nothing is being built. Nothing is thriving. We are a state on autopilot. A state governed by someone who seems more at home in Abuja than in Owerri.

As 2027 approaches, we must begin to ask the tough questions. What has this administration built? What legacy is being left behind? What is working in Imo? The people are tired. The system is exhausted. The state is struggling. We cannot afford another eight years of emptiness. Imo has suffered enough. The time to hold this government accountable is now.

SERIAL BLACKMAILER

By Kenneth Duru

It is said in Igbo adage that an elder can not stay at home watching a nanny goat delivering with umbilical cord tied on its kid. People of Imo state, Nigeria who know the notorious and serial blackmailer, Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke can not stay akimbo watching whilst the self exiled mad dog selling her treacherous services with murderous boldness. Her infamous trademark is all over the recent issue on Natasha/Akpabio. It is laughable that some Nigerians are taking her serious.

Any social and political observer in Imo state who has been following events especially, during the early days of Rochas Okorocha's government will not be surprised to read what Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke spilling out on daily basis on the case of Natasha/ Akpabio for the fact that the said Sandra Duru is infamous as a notorious blackmailer whose stock in trade is to malign and tarnish the image of public office holders with brutality and covert fiscal concerns.

With sense of responsibility and decency in the public sphere, it is pertinent for those in Nigeria and global arena to know the character of the notorious Prof Mgbeke they have been analysing her contents in the recent times on the issue of Natasha/Akpabio because if people actually know the repugnant character of Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke nobody will take her serious and even cannot be reading her content on any subject matter.

To whom it may concern, Ms Sandra Duru is a mercantile baby mama of different men on a low key. She targets men in high places and hook them up for fun in order to produce amorous evidences for blackmailing purposes. She had destroyed different homes in Imo state before she escaped to Lagos enroute to United States as security agents were trailing her. She can't return home again over her atrocious activities.

Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke always throw caution to the wind as she plies her blackmailing trade. She had in several occasions accused some politicians in Imo state of embezzlement, homosexuality and incest with fabricated evidences like she did to Sen Natasha. She is a pathological and bold liar who once accused one of her ex husbands of being a sexual partner with another man who was then the deputy governor of Imo state, Eze Madumere. All these are in public domain.

To butress the madness and treacherous lifestyle of Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke, she had gone extreme to the extent of tendering projected and fabricated image that suggested that her ex husband, Hon Uche Rajis was on top of the then Imo deputy governor in a sexual position as she claimed that she caught the dou pant down.

Our sister, Sandra Duru has no character and her lies against Sen. Natasha must have been in line with her known lying and fabrication attitude, hence she shouldn't be taken very seriously.

We wish to encourage Sen. Natasha to go about her case with evidences at her disposal, and never be distracted by the rantings by our mad sister who is known for such stupidity.

Ms Sandra Duru ought to have long ago hidden her face in debris of shame but unfortunately she is shameless even at the point she was disowned by her own parents, she continues to bring shame to her brothers and sisters over material gains. On this note, one of her daughters had once publicly denounced her mother for her frivolities and low life. It is on record that she had once accused a public figure of sexually molesting her daughter without verifiable evidence and the matter was taken up by security agents before she escaped to United States.

Members of the public will be routinely updated with verifiable evidences the unholy activities of the recalcitrant and treacherous woman who because of glutton and material gains bore different children for different men and has continued to live a controversial life with a dead conscience without recourse to her future.

In furtherance to addressing the madness of Prof Mgbeke my sister this time, security agents will be notified in Nigeria so that they will work in synergy with FBI to see if Sandra Duru will be arrested and deported to Nigeria to face the alleged multiple criminal cases she had incurred before escaping to United States. The time is ticking.

BY IMO LEAGUE OF CONCERNED CITIZENS

Our attention has been drawn to recent antagonistic statements on the social media against the Distinguished Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by a certain SANDRA DURU, who also goes by the alliance of "Prof Mgbeke"

Women, it has been said, are the greatest enemies to themselves, not men.

Behind the every fall of a woman, there's always another woman.

While this is not in anyway mobilizing supports for the Kogi Senator, it has become important as kinsmen of the mad man dancing naked in the market square to notify the public that our brother is mad.

Nigerians, including the world over know what Sen. Natasha has been battling the past few months, but not many knew that Sandra Duru had equally fought and battled almost the same kind of "victimization" before she escaped to the United States where she presently resides and started her life all over again.

Known for her controversial dispositions, laced with lies, blackmails and propaganda, Imo people saw the brutality employed by Sandra Duru in fighting the government of Sen. Rochas Okorocha's Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere many years ago. We read all her claims against the Prince, including promoting him as a homosexual.

In her desperation to gain recognition from just nowhere and doing just nothing within the political sphere, Sandra Duru jumped into dating high profile men in every government. She even had to move into the home of a former aide to Gov. Rochas Okoorocha - Hon. Uche Rajis, and had babies for him just to be around corridors of power. But when the young Rajis was removed, Sandra Duru escaped with her children, accusing her young husband too homosexual practices.

Sandra Duru's dirty lifestyle and desperations while in Nigeria had brought her in conflict with who is who in Imo State, that she can't easily enter the state, yet this is a young lady who desperately wants to have political relevance by all means.

Ever since she escaped to the US, Sandra Duru has not stopped fighting and blackmailing people. Her first fight in the US on arrival was against the woman who helped her relocate. She raised hundreds of lies against the woman just to make sure that she does not pay the balance for her paper packaging.

Sandra Duru has been isolated and avoided by all because of her notorious lifestyles. She has been silently living in the US without recognition and references, except the occasional comments she receives from some sympathizers on her Facebook page.

When recently the crises between Sen. Natasha and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio started, it was Sandra Duru who struggled to reach out to Sen. Natasha. She requested from the Kogi Senator for some funds to enable her raise a Women-for-Women campaign against Sen. Akpabio. She also demanded for some cash in dollars to enable her fly to Nigeria, and mobilize some women to occupy the National Assembly for Natasha.

Sandra Duru claimed she had the contact to mobilize over 500 popular women in Nigeria; a claim the Senator later discovered was not true, and thereafter jettisoned her.

Sen. Natasha later got the free support of Mrs Oby Ezekwesili who even attended the National Assembly Investigative Committee of the Senate to defend Sen. Natasha; an action that has now infuriated the Mgbeke Prof.

On realizing that she has been avoided by Sen. Natasha, and has continued to be snubbed, "Prof Mgbeke" got angry, and started making moves to gain the acceptance of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio through her recent attacks on Sen. Natasha.

This explanation has become necessary so that people will clearly understand the insincerity on the part of Sandra Duru. Her claims against Sen. Natasha were all lies which we all know her with. She is operating from an angle of a wounded lioness and a deflated ego.

To her, Sandra Duru, not Oby Ezekwesili should have led women for Natasha.

This is therefore, for the benefit of those who do not know her. As she daily photoshops herself on her Facebook page with different pictorial images, so also is her nature. A lady of many dangerous faces and characters. Believe her at your peril.

Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has publicly backed fellow socialite Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, following his arrest by the EFCC for allegedly abusing the Naira and spraying U.S. dollars at a public event.

E-Money was arrested Monday night at his Lagos residence for violating the Foreign Exchange Act. Reacting on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest praised E-Money’s recent contributions to the South-East and claimed the arrest was an attempt to suppress his growing influence.

He encouraged E-Money to stay strong, saying, “This will only make you stronger—just like our Rolls Royce.”

A giant African pouched rat named Ronin has broken the world record for landmine detection, uncovering 109 landmines and 15 unexploded ordnances in Cambodia’s Preah Vihear province, according to Belgian charity APOPO.

Since his deployment in August 2021, the five-year-old rodent has become APOPO’s most successful Mine Detection Rat (MDR), surpassing the previous record set by Magawa, who detected 71 landmines during his service.

Ronin’s remarkable achievement has earned him a Guinness World Records title, underscoring the critical role of trained rats—nicknamed “HeroRats”—in humanitarian demining efforts.

Cambodia remains one of the world’s most heavily mined countries, with decades of conflict leaving behind dangerous explosives. The country had targeted becoming mine-free by 2025 but recently extended the deadline due to funding constraints and newly discovered minefields.

Luxury detective page, T20Luxury, has accused actress Mercy Aigbe of showcasing a counterfeit handbag.

Sharing her photo on Instagram, the page claimed her Louis Vuitton Capucines bag was fake and also questioned the authenticity of her eyewear.

T20Luxury advised Aigbe to be more cautious when selecting stylists and personal shoppers, emphasizing the harm counterfeit goods cause to creativity.

This comes shortly after the page similarly called out comedian AY Makun for allegedly flaunting a fake Hermès bag.

Contrary to the false statement made by a colleague that she has six kids with different men, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has four children: a son from her first marriage, two from her second, and a son with High Chief Uduaghan, her current husband.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recent face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reignited discussions about both her political and personal life. While her defiance in the Senate and allegations against Akpabio have drawn national attention, her private life—especially her marriages and children—has also come under scrutiny.

Some are of the view that her personal life is her business and should not be an issue. While some have an opposite view.

Her latest controversy began when she rejected a new Senate seating arrangement in February 2024. The dispute escalated into accusations that Akpabio was targeting her for previously rejecting his alleged advances.

After being suspended for six months, she retaliated by suing Akpabio for def+mation and taking her claims to international bodies like the UN and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

This is not the first time Natasha has made allegations of s+x¥al hara§§ment. A resurfaced 2021 video shows her accusing former presidential aide Reno Omokri of similar misconduct.

Omokri denied the claims, arguing that he was out of the country at the time. With these recurring accusations, public opinion remains divided—some see her as a fearless woman taking on powerful men, while others question her credibility.

Despite the controversies, Natasha remains a formidable force in Nigerian politics. Whether her influence will endure or fade remains uncertain, but she has undeniably cemented her place as a woman unafraid to challenge the system.

The Netherlands said Wednesday it was returning more than 100 “Benin Bronzes” to Nigeria that British troops looted in the late 19th century and ended up in a Dutch museum. The European country stated this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the move followed a request by the Nigerian government.

The 113 pieces are the biggest haul returned to Nigeria from the 1897 raid, said Olugbile Holloway, Director General of the Nigerian National Commission for Museums and Monuments. “At the request of Nigeria, the Netherlands is returning 113 ‘Benin Bronzes’ from the National Collection. Minister Eppo Bruins (OCW) has decided to return them,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the transfer agreement will be signed on Wednesday by the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture, and Science, Eppo Bruins, and the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), Olugbile Holloway. “With this return, we are contributing to the redress of a historical injustice that is still felt today,” said Dutch Culture, Education, and Science Minister Eppo Bruins.

The Netherlands’ return of these artefacts follows similar ones by other countries, such as Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom. British soldiers stole the ancient sculptures, including depictions of royal figures and animals, in 1897 from the Kingdom of Benin in modern-day Nigeria. However, the British Museum in London has refused to return any of its famed collection. A law passed in 1963 technically prevents the museum from giving back the treasures.

The treasures were then sold and had been displayed at the Wereldmuseum (World Museum) in Leiden.

The Anambra State government has declared that women seen in public without bras or pants under their clothing will face arrest.

This directive was communicated by a representative of the state's security agency, who was recorded making the announcement in a video now circulating on social media. The official, speaking in Igbo, conveyed that the order came directly from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The video, which has sparked varied reactions online, shows the security personnel using a loudspeaker from a vehicle while making the announcement.

Popular Nigerian on-air personality, Chinedu Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his exit from The Honest Bunch Podcast following ongoing controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman.

The drama started after reality TV star Deeone claimed on the podcast that Verydarkman had an interest in men. However, instead of addressing the allegation, Verydarkman shifted focus to Nedu, revealing private conversations and making accusations about his past relationships.

As the controversy escalated, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to announce his decision to step down from the podcast, citing the need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show.

In his official statement, Nedu expressed gratitude for the podcast's journey but acknowledged that the intense scrutiny, criticism, and accusations had taken a personal toll. He emphasized his dedication to meaningful conversations but stated that stepping away was necessary to end the negativity surrounding his name.

“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and tackling difficult topics.

But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have taken a personal toll.

In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast—for my peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show.

I hope this decision puts an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows the show to continue thriving.”

Created by Glitch Africa in 2022, The Honest Bunch Podcast features four main hosts: Nedu, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.

The suspension of U.S. funding for global HIV treatment has sparked fear and uncertainty among people living with the disease, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those dependent on free medication.

Haruna Makafin Dala, Secretary of the SafeLife Sustainable and Counseling Initiative in Kano, warned that without urgent government intervention, many patients could face life-threatening consequences. He expressed concern that the funding cut could drive people toward unproven traditional remedies, worsening the crisis.

Bashir Ismail, another HIV patient, revealed that free testing and medication for new cases had already been suspended, with drug supplies running low.

A recent survey by SafeLife Initiative found a rise in child HIV infections in Kano, while support for orphaned children is dwindling. The organization currently cares for over 2,000 orphans who lost parents to HIV-related complications.

The funding suspension stems from an executive order signed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, revoking support for the global fight against HIV/AIDS. The World Health Organization (WHO) condemned the decision, warning it could reverse decades of progress, leading to increased infections and deaths.

The cut affects the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which has operated in over 50 countries, saving more than 26 million lives. Currently, it provides treatment for over 20 million people, including 566,000 children under 15.

The altercation reportedly began after the landlord asked her to vacate the property. Witnesses say the disagreement escalated, leading the tenant to strike him with the heavy kitchen tool.

The landlord has been rushed to the hospital for treatment, while authorities have taken the suspect into custody for further investigation.

Sowore appeared before Justice Liman of the FCT High Court and was arraigned around 10:00 a.m. when the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Meanwhile, several of his supporters staged a protest outside the court in response to his arraignment.

Victoria Ogunremi, a Nigerian-American based in New Jersey, returned $5,700 she discovered in the restroom at her workplace. Her act of honesty has been widely praised by her employer, colleagues, and the money’s owner, who expressed immense gratitude.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Ogunremi revealed that her decision was driven by empathy for the person who lost the money and her strong Christian values.

“I didn’t hesitate because my faith teaches me that honesty brings peace of mind. The thought of the distress this loss could cause inspired me to act,” she explained.

Ogunremi located the money’s owner before notifying her workplace management, who commended her integrity. She noted that her late father’s teachings on morality have shaped her life and emphasized the importance of instilling such values in future generations.

“Whether someone is watching or not, doing the right thing matters. A good name is priceless, and peace of mind is golden,” Ogunremi said, adding that honesty always outweighs material gain.

Her selfless act has been celebrated as a testament to integrity and compassion, offering a shining example of doing what is right even in challenging circumstances.
