Following the Supreme Court verdict nullifying the election of Dr Jones Onyereri as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Imo West senatorial District, leaders and critical stakeholders of the party in Orlu Zone have vehemently declared Chief Emeka Ihedioha persona nongrata for masterminding the loss.

In a press conference weekend organized by leaders of the party in Orlu zone, the group frowned at Ihedioha’s brazen desperation to pull down every party leader in order to clinch their party’s Governorship ticket after his two unsuccessful outgoings, and warned him to stay clear of the zone.

Addressing newsmen, Amb Iwuoha Ofonagoro, Chief Damian Nzeribe and Dr (Mrs) Akwuiwu Josephine who spoke on behalf of others expressed anger that after Dr Onyereri’s victory at the Appeal Court, the other two candidates, Hon Jerry Alagboso and Dr ThankGod Ezeani decided to withdraw the suit, adding that immediately Ihedioha got the wand of the possible settlement summoned the duo and encouraged them to challenge the emergence of Dr Onyereri up to Supreme Court.

Amb Iwuoha Ofonagoro, Chief Damian Nzeribe and Dr (Mrs) Akwuiwu Josephine maintained that for denying Orlu people the chances of having a Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 election, Ihedioha has dug his political grave and as such should not consider stepping into the zone for campaign.

“What interest does Ihedioha, Irona, Ugwu and their co-conspirators have in Orlu zone to go this far? How would they prefer our party not to be on the ballot if they are not supporting either, Senator Ostia Izunaso of APC, or Chief Charles Ahize of Labour Party? How would our Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar garner 25% votes in Orlu zone when our party does not have a Senatorial Candidate for now? Until Ihedioha and his accomplices answer these questions, Orlu zone people will continue to declare them persona nongrata.” They submitted.

According to them, all their efforts, financial involvements, time and devotion to elect a man that can embrace every Orlu zone person has become wasted on the altar of selfishness, greed and malice, assuring Ihedioha of their people’s resolve to revenge in due cause.

Reacting further, Orlu zone PDP leaders and stakeholders called on party members across the state not to be excited with Emeka Ihedioha’s political ambition, saying that it would be an impossibility for any evil, wicked and vindictive person to grab or retain power in Imo state.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach Ihedioha’s spokesman, Chibuike Onyeukwu for reaction proved abortive as at press time.

One of the best things that have happened to Orlu zone is Senator Osita Izunaso. This is because of his numerous contributions to the development of the zone since he joined politics. Honestly, Senator Osita Izunaso has judiciously used his various positions of authority to touch the lives of his people positively. Osita Izunaso has held many positions of authority which he utilized for the service of his people.

Senator Osita Izunaso towers above all his challengers for the Orlu Senatorial seat, having been a member of the House of Representatives and a Senator. Also, Senator Izunaso had held the position of National Organizing Secretary of APC. He has acquired enormous experience in the service of the people. His numerous contributions to the development of Orlu is unparalleled. Little wonder the president and commander of the armed forces, Muhammadu Buhari found him worthy to be honoured with the prestigious award of Officer of Federal Republic (OFR). Senator Osita Izunaso is a national player cum towering colossus when compared with his fellow contestants. Osita Izunaso is a ranking lawmaker who stands a great chance of becoming the next senate president unlike his challengers who are just coming to learn the process of lawmaking. Electing political neophytes are lawmakers are always detrimental to the future of the people. That’s why the people of Orlu zone have no better option than Senator Osita Izunaso because of great hope his election represents for Orlu zone.

It is not in doubt that the position of the Senate President would go to South East if the ruling APC wins the Presidential election. Even if the ruling party loses, a man of character with the requisite credentials and legislative ranking would be needed to drive the interest of the party in South East. Such a choice cannot be far from Senator Osita Izunaso.

The next senator of Orlu Zone has got a Herculean task as he will be replacing a man who knows nothing about lawmaking. So, such a mountainous task requires a man with the ranking and sound legislative experience like Senator Osita Izunaso. Among all those who have presented themselves for Orlu Senate seat, only Senator Osita Izunaso appears fit for the job. He is not coming to learn on the job but coming to hit the ground running with his sound legislative experience. He has the cognate experience required to represent the good people of Orlu zone in the Senate. He is not a political hustler or neophyte like his co-contestants who will waste four years, learning the art of legislation. If Orlu zone makes the mistake of electing any of these job men as Senator, four years will be wasted because they lack the knowledge of the political intrigues which Senator Izunaso has in his kitty. With an experienced legislator like Senator Osita Izunaso on the saddle, no national cake will elude Orlu zone because he won’t be a baby Senator neither will he sleep on duty like others.

Senator Izunaso towers far above his challengers due to his intimidating credentials, connections and legislative experience. All his challengers lack these qualities which are needed for the development of Orlu zone. The decision is now for Orlu people to make by choosing experience over inexperience for sound legislation and oversights that will lead to massive development of Orlu zone. Experience counts! The chances of producing a principal officer of the senate is very bright only with Senator Izunaso. Non of the challengers of Senator Izunaso is qualified for election as a principal officer in the Senate. Orlu zone doesn’t need a Senator who will be taking tutorials in Abuja before they understand the business of the Senate. Orlu zone has suffered so much in the last four years due to inexperience and so should not make the mistake of electing greenhorns to represent them in the red chamber of the National Assembly. With what Senator Osita Izunaso represents as a ranking lawmaker, Orlu zone can’t afford to miss the golden opportunity of tapping from his wealth of legislative experience and huge connections for the massive development of the zone. A vote for Senator Osita Izunaso of APC is a vote for the correction of the poor representation of the zone in the senate; it’s a vote for uncommon development of Orlu through experienced legislation. May Orlu zone never miss this golden opportunity.

Experience and Ranking Counts.

A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has come under heavy criticism for allegedly sponsoring publication in some local tabloids as regards his endorsement and support by Atiku Abubakar during last Saturday's presidential campaign rally in Imo State.

In a video that had since gone viral on social media, the Presidential Candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was seen asking if Imolites will vote Ihedioha and the response of the mammoth crowd was edited in favor of Ihedioha according to report.

NewsGaztte gathered ever since the attention of the National Campaign Council Team of PDP as well as the Presidential Candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar were drawn to the trending video, Ihedioha has been under fire for attempting to frame the presidential candidate, Atiku into his purported guber endorsement saga.

It was learnt that the video trending on several social media platforms alledging Atiku's endorsement of Ihedioha and syndicated by his media handlers has in the last couple of days caused ripples in the party and Imo State in general.

Our political correspondent gathered that Atiku's visit to Imo State rekindled hope and chances of the party to garner votes in the state not minding  earlier decision reached by the electorates particularly from Southeast who threatened not to vote for the PDP presidential candidate as a result of the inflammatory remarks made by Hon Emeka Ihedioha in far away Ghana where he described Igbos as Saboteurs for supporting Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate.

According to an impeccable source who pleaded on condition of anonymity disclosed that Ihedioha was advised by his allies in the National Campaign Council Team from bringing in his governorship reelection ambition during Atiku's visit to Imo but the unassuming Ihedioha according to the source was able to lobby a close aid of the presidential candidate which led to the name of Ihedioha being mentioned why the Presidential Candidate was about concluding his speech. Meanwhile, the leadership of the National Campaign Team of Atiku/Okowa had since the trending controversial video has requested for the footage of the presidential candidate's speech at the Ndubuisi Kalu Square in Imo.

Also, hard copies of the Newspaper publication particularly the Imo based local tabloids has also been sent across for attention of the National PCC.

Also, the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been put on notice as well.

According to a PDP Chieftain and former House of Assembly member who represented Okigwe State Constituency, Hon Damian Ogu during a phone in Radio Program on Boss Radio FM on Monday described the trending video as a figment of imagination of the perpetrators. According to him " Our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar did not endorse any governorship aspirant in Imo State during his Saturday's visit and I wish to state that Atiku is so experienced to play into Ihedioha's bumpy trap. I was at the rally and there was nothing like endorsement as published in some print media", he said.

Furthermore, several party faithful and Some members who are nursing ambition of contesting the governorship primaries are angry and threatening that Ihedioha must be sanctioned by the party for portraying our Presidential Candidate as a non Democrat emanating from the purported endorsment of an aspirant when the party is yet to conduct its primaries.

Ex-Nigerian lawmaker Ned Nwoko also says that if southerners marry four wives, prostitution will reduce in Nigeria.

By Ovwe Medeme.

The former Nigerian lawmaker, Ned Nwoko, may not be vocal about social issues, but he does have some controversial opinions.

The lawyer and philanthropist, who is married to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has expressed concerns about moral decadence in Nigerian society.

In an interview with The Guardian Nigeria, Mr Nwoko, who is contesting the Delta North senatorial election, said that by refusing to marry more than one wife, men, especially those from Southern Nigeria, are pushing women into prostitution.

In his view, many women are alone without husbands, especially in the southern part of the country, a factor he said leads to prostitution.

“What some of our girls do to make ends meet is regrettable, and if our men emulate their northern counterparts by having more than one wife, that could probably change the situation.

“The average southerner may have only one wife, but many girlfriends also, and he is spending his money on the girlfriends, sometimes even more than on his wife.

“The man who has three wives, every money he makes is spent on the family, and he is likely not to have any girlfriends or concubines. The money those with several girlfriends spend on them is a gift, is not an investment in the family.”

Population implications

According to the former House of Representatives member, those complaining that the North is more populated than the South have no basis for complaints.

He said southerners give birth to an average of four children, while a northern man, with at least four wives, gives birth to an average of 20 children.

“So, the south may never catch up with the north in terms of population. We deceive ourselves by counting cows and cattle, which is false because they depend on human beings, their children and their wives.

“All you can now do is, if any law stops you from marrying wives, it should be relaxed. Powerful can behave like your grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who were powerful men before the advent of the whites, who came and told you it should be one man, one wife.”

The Ooni effect

The politician, who holds a degree in Law and History from the University of Keele, UK, also drew similarities between himself and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ọjájá II, who recently took six wives in one swoop.

In 2019, Mr Nwoko married actress Regina Daniels and now has two kids with her.

He said that aside from him and the Ooni being polygamists, their grandfathers were both in the House in the Old Western Region in the 1950s.

“The Ooni and I have a common background because our grandfathers were kings and served Nigeria in that capacity. And we are now also serving Nigeria by having many wives,” he said.

Family bonding

Like the Osun monarch, Mr Nwoko has six prominent wives, but they don’t live together.

Describing them as prominent women in their rights, he said they all live in different places worldwide.

“Two are in New York, in the United States (US), two are here in Nigeria, and two are in Dubai. But sometimes, they meet here (his Delta State country home); here is the meeting point,” he said.

Mr Nwoko, seeking to represent Delta North senatorial district under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), explained that, as a rule, he travels with only one wife at a time.

“I travel with one wife at a time. Usually, like once, it happened that I travelled with Regina and Laila. But usually, I travel with the kids, the younger kids.

“I have 19 children now, and my oldest is 30. Those with my first wife are all graduates now. My last child with her made a First Class last year in England. So, they are on their own; they are independent and go on holidays with their friends, not even with their mother, who is a lawyer or me,” he added.

The politician admits that Ms Daniels is the favourite but only because she is the last. He also said that she influenced him to become more active on social m

The strength and success of an organization is the sacrifice from those leading the organization.

A good leader is known and recognized by his uncompromising decision for result, he abhors selfishness, ego, envy and malice to achieve meaningful success. A good leader does not look for who to witch-hunt or blackmail, but goes for assets and professionalism not minding whether he loves the person or not.

Such desired sacrifices are what is currently required in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be able to dislodge its numerous challenges.

In the past, some notable leaders of the party had let go of their personal interests for the sustenance of genuine reconciliation, peace and unity of the party.

Such individuals had foregone their political ambitions and resources invested for the sake of peace and tranquillity of the party.

One remarkable thing that has happened to the PDP is the availability of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, popularly known as Samdaddy.

He has made unimaginable sacrifices to retain the impeccable image of PDP before and currently.

As Local Government Executive Chairman, Senator Anyanwu sacrificed his comfort and official powers when political back-biters and  witch-hunters struggled in vain to blackmail him.

He did not use his position to fight back but instead subjected himself to due process and accepted to pass through all those that wished him bad, alas, his enemies were put to shame after the attempt on his pedigree.

As Member of the State Assembly, Senator Anyanwu sacrificed his personal comfort by rejecting all entreaties by the then APC Government of Owelle Okorocha to induce him to join the party.

Senator Anyanwu did not only reject all financial offers to be lured into the APC, but did his best to convert most of his colleagues in the Assembly to join his party, PDP.

At the Senate as a first timer, Senator Anyanwu maintained his cool and stood his ground when the APC government of Muhammad Buhari threatened to shake the red Chambers.

As a smart and dogged Lawmaker, Senator Anyanwu moved the first motion in the Chambers passing an implicit vote of confidence in the then President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki.

This motion no doubt sustained the peace, unity and growth of the Assembly thereby making the 8th Senate the most viable, formidable and organized.

Currently as National Secretary of PDP, Senator Anyanwu has proved his leadership mettle, administration sagacity and social coordination in galvanizing issues concerning the party.

In the party, Senator Anyanwu has made lots of sacrifices and still ready to sacrifice more, all geared towards the unity and growth of PDP.

He has donated millions to the party from Ward to State, paid office rent for the party from Ward to State, donated vehicles, empowered PDP women/youths from Ward to State and restored the party’s policy trust.

Records have it that Senator Anyanwu has remained the most blackmailed, cajoled, insulted and criticized National Secretary of PDP by his brothers and sisters from Imo State who wished he never won that position. All these were meant to deter him from his functions.

As a coordinated politician, he has remained focused, dedicated and articulate in pursuing his dreams. When some sponsored disgruntled elements within the party were incited to malign him and drag his image to the mud during the 2022 primaries, Senator Anyanwu displayed high level of maturity in handling the whole provocation.

What these people who refused to make sacrifices in the PDP failed to understand is that power belongs to God and whoever He gives power, no one queries Him.

While Senator Anyanwu is thinking for the growth, victory and success of PDP, others are desperate, pushing down people, blackmailing and fueling crises against PDP fir their selfish desires.

Mr. Onwuasoanya FCC Jones is one hell of a writer that writes for whosoever can foot his bills, he will surely pen good words for the Devil if he can pay him too. He is a perfect fit for what you can call “ANYWHERE BELLE FACE WRITER”.

Joncing Jones started writing for Sir Ikedi Ohakim and dropped him like a pack of cards the minute Ihedioha raised the stakes and started rubbishing the ex Gov. on social media. He joined The Green Cap Fraternity (his own words for Ihedioha and his apologists) and dumped them for Okorocha and APC he once described as “Janjaweed Party”. Don’t forget he served as Publicity Secretary of the Imo Chapter of the Janjaweed Party. That’s Jones for you, he jonces. Immediately his bills was met by Okorocha my friend Jones started hauling insults on PDP leaders, Ihedioha and everyone else. Immediately Okorocha stopped paying, joncing Jones wrote a long epistle, resigned from the Janjaweed Party and briefly wrote for the Sen Hope Uzodimma led Government that settled the under 40 years old IMSU graduate with membership of the state Elders Council. Barely a few months into his membership of the Elders Council, seeing that nothing good is coming out from it, Joncing Jones started attacking the same government on social media.

Today, a House of Representatives candidate from Ideato area has bought him over to work for Ihedioha failed third term ambition and Samdaddy Anyanwu has become his only focus. Same man once wrote glowingly about Sen Samuel Anyanwu even appreciating him for donating 600,000 Naira to his failed film project in Lagos and ofcourse condemned the Mbutu Green Cap Fraternity leader but now his past has caught up with him. He is ashamed and embarrassed by his past articles on both men.

Because I chose to remind him of his past articles on both Samdaddy and the Mbutu Green Cap Confraternity leader, Ihedioha, FCC Jones has written the above thrash put my name to it then added COPIED hoping it will fly and avoid litigation too.

I challenge FCC Jones to do what I’m doing and will do in the next few days to come, get the link or screenshot of where and when I wrote this gibberish against Samdaddy Anyanwu or hide in shame.

NB: Find below, the obnoxious articles that has kept Joncing Jones awake at night.

- say, "we will make public audio clip of our private meeting with Ihedioha, Charles Ugwu"

The is uneasy calm in the camp of the sacked Imo illegally declared governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, NewsGazzete can authoritatively confirm.

Information reaching our correspondent in Owerri revealed that over 17 LGA party Chairmen in the state are spoiling for war as they have threatened to make public audio clips of their private meeting with Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

According to spokesperson of the group ( Forum of Imo PDP LGA Chairmen), who do not want his name on print, disclosed " we are ever ready to address the media regarding the misappropriation of funds sent to Imo PDP state working committee by the NWC as proceeds from the sale of the party's nomination forms in the recently conducted primaries.

"Few months after Inauguration of our son, Sen Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the forum of Imo PDP LGA Chairmen visited him on solidarity thereafter we got information that the NWC had earlier credited percentages of proceeds from the sale of party nomination forms to the Imo PDP SWC. This led to our visiting Engr Charles Ugwu, our state chairman.

Continuing, the source revealed that the Engr Charles Ugwu led SWC diverted funds meant for the party as it was expected that the proceeds from the NWC should be shared amongst the state executive committee as well as Ward structure of the party, instead, Ugwu carefully selected few loyalists within his control and approved funds for them.

While the forum of SWC assistants got a wind of the information paid a visit to Ihedioha who directed that each of the state assistants be paid 300k which was carried out by the SWC.

"Some weeks after, the forum of Imo PDP LGA Chairmen visited the residence of Emeka Ihedioha to lodge our complaints instead he threatened to order party ward Chairmen and their executives to suspend us from from the party.

"We have audio clips of our meeting with Engr Charles Ugwu where he made threat at any LGA chairman that declines support for Emeka Ihedioha adding that his emergence as party was influenced by Ihedioha.

All we are asking for is proceeds and percentages from the sale of nomination forms during the party primaries sent to Imo PDP by the NWC, no more no less, the source revealed.

_ As Ugwu Led EXCO Offers 150k Each To Get Signatures From Party Faithful

- Gather Women and Ihedioha's Reelection Movement Team To Write And Sign Resolution For His Boss

- Engr Charles Ugwu Is Said To Be Under Oath - Party Chieftain

The Imo PDP State Chairman, Engr Charles Ugwu is said to be under oath with his boss, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha as he is still recalcitrant to the directives and order by the National Working Committee of the PDP to stand down issues on the Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee List in the state.

According to a staff at the party secretariat situated along Okigwe road disclosed that the Imo PDP SWC under the leadership of Engr Charles Ugwu convened an emergency meeting where women leaders particularly members of Ihedioha's Reelection Movement across the 27 LGAs in the state were invited to come and append their signatures for the adoption and as well pass a vote of confidence on the state exco of the party.

Continuing, the insider source disclosed that the sum of 150,000 ( One hundred and fifty thousand naira) were pegged for each signatories.

Trouble started when majority of the women leaders demanded for advance payment before signing the document passing a vote of confidence on the Ugwu led state executive. But the reverse was the case when the agent of the state chairman insisted they sign before payment which led to women's refusal to sign the resolution resulting to fracas at the secretariat.

It could be recalled that the NWC extended invitation to Imo PDP stakeholders and invited them to a meeting in Abuja next week Tuesday, to play a fast one the SWC through the support of Ihedioha initiated another strategy by doctoring fake signatures so as to portray Imo PDP SWC as working harmoniously with party leaders in the state.

Our inside sources say this is ongoing as at the time of filing this report " but we know that the NWC are smart enough  to decipher an arrangement designed to decieve", the source noted.

... mandates supporters to sign document passing vote of confidence on Ugwu led exco

There is uneasy calm at the party secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Imo state chapter, NewsGazzete can authoritatively confirm.

Our roving reporter who visited the Okigwe road office of the party gathered that hundreds of party faithful loyal to Chief Emeka Ihedioha are already on ground as they were presented with pen and typed documents once they arrived the party office and  directed to append their signatures and names.

One of the party members when contacted  said the signing of the document/ resolution passing a vote of confidence on the Engr Charles Ugwu led state executive of the party.

Continuing, he confided in our reporter that there are series of meetings ongoing at the party secretariat as regards the NWC invitation extended to Imo PDP stakeholders to Abuja by Tuesday next week.

It was also learnt that the purported emergency vote of confidence on Ugwu led SWC was a script designed by Ihedioha's camp as last minute strategy to save self imposed chairmanship of the Imo PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Meanwhile, Candidates of the party both National and State Assembly had already advised their supporters  to stare clear Imo PDP secretariat to avoid being blackmailed as part of the purported fake Presidential Campaign Council List.

Also, stakeholders of the party frowns at the impunity by the Imo PDP SWC convening a private meeting for a Governorship aspirant at the state party secretariat as this development may attract consequences as other groups has threatened to visit the party office  to dislodge Ihedioha's Reelection Movement meeting and cause havoc where they are holding the illegal meeting for the former deputy speaker, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

Reliable information at our disposal has it that Mr. Emeka IHEDIOHA had a meeting with PDP candidates were he tried to pit them against the party Stakeholders, Elders and leaders to side him and his handpicked SWC members.

This meeting was on the backdrop of the cancellation of the illegitimately composed and discredited list of IHEDIOHA loyalists and wife’s and children of the SWC members dubbed Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.

The party candidates should be aware that their elections are at stake. Some of them are contesting for the very first time and need to be careful and stop being deceived by a man who rode on the back of the party 3 times to the House of Representatives and served as governor for 8 months only. Ihedioha has benefitted from PDP and still benefiting till date and our party candidates should be wise. They should remain neutral in any debate for or against part leaders contesting for governor and have their ambition as prime focus.

The plan of Mr Emeka IHEDIOHA is to set-up these candidates by pushing them to attend the stakeholders meeting where they will be disgraced at Abuja. These candidates should avoid the EMBARRASSMENT awaiting them in Abuja if they attend the meeting. They would be up to lose their election in the circumstance they are seen to be against the wishes of the Elders, Stakeholders and leaders of the party while following sheepishly another man whose third term ambition has derailed and lost bearing.

The candidates of Imo PDP must be as wise as a serpent. Politics is about interest, their own interest being  victorious at the polls should be paramount  rather than lose their election supporting a drowning man, they should remain neutral. This is a general election. Ihedioha would not vote or be seen outside his Mbutu ward and results from the 2019 Elections shows his Mbaise Magic Votes days are over. His advantage in party affains used in rigging his way to PDP ticket is over too. A new Sheriff is in town.  Monkey sabi climb tree na because tree dey close to demselves.

A word is enough for the wise.

.... appeal to them to attend NWC /Imo PDP Stakeholders Meeting In Abuja

- as party faithful threatens to work against candidates behind Imo PCC  doctored list

Owerri_ Fresh revelations emerged last night, Wednesday aftermath directives from the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP extended invitation to Imo PDP stakeholders to visit the Wadata Plaza on Tuesday, next week in continuation of their investigation into the purported Imo PDP Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee List, NewsGazzete can authoritatively confirm.

Our roving reporter who gained access to the venue of the meeting undisclosed gathered that the meeting was convened at the instance of the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

Highpoint of the meeting was the decision of the NWC of PDP inviting stakeholders of the party to Wadata Plaza.

While the meeting was in session, the furious Ihedioha accused the NWC of frustrating his governorship reelection ambition by attempting to review the Imo PDP Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee List.

Continuing, Ihedioha disclosed " I have invested hugely in the party, my being the Chairman of the Campaign Council Team in the state should be a compensation to me as I was removed from office as an elected governor even while the party abandoned me to carry my cross, I got no financial assistance to prosecute my case at the Supreme Court rather all I got was protest march that yielded no positive result.

"If the decision of the NWC of our party is anything to go by which I strongly believe that my name may be substituted with another Imo son to lead the Campaign in the state, then am doomed politically.

"By so doing, my political relevance and status as the leader of the party in the state will be subject of mockery.

"I have called you all candidates of our party whom I played role in influencing your emergence in the last primary election to come to my rescue.  " I wish to bring to your notice that my political future is at stake and if we don't take a bold step, we maybe  heading to political hibernation.

Hence, I appeal to you all to make yourselves available next week at the NWC meeting with Imo PDP stakeholders to defend my chairmanship of the Campaign Council for our Presidential candidate and Vice Presidential candidate in the state".

The Candidates present at the meeting were also mandated to donate funds to transport select Pro-Ihedioha's party loyalists to Abuja on Monday next week ahead of the Tuesday meeting.

Our correspondent gathered that the sum of 8million naira was raised to take care of transport fare and other logistics of Ihedioha Reelection Movement members to Abuja in solidarity.

Meanwhile, some stakeholders and faithful of the party who got a wind of the meeting have vowed to publish names of candidates of the party plotting with Ihedioha to subvert the decision and position of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo state regarding the Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee List.

They vowed to work against any candidate who identifies with Ihedioha regarding the doctored Imo PDP Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee List, NewsGazzete confirmed.

Also, there are feelers that Imo youths who are plotting to get back at Ihedioha for calling them Saboteurs for supporting Mr Peter Obi had also renewed their resolution and commenced mobilisation to work against any PDP candidate that identifies with Ihedioha ahead of the 2023 general election, describing him as a desperate politician.

In a similar development, a Chieftain of the Labor Party in the state who pleaded on condition of anonymity told our reporter that political parties' stalwarts in the state are closely monitoring the outcome of the PDP  National Working Committee's meeting with Imo PDP stakeholders scheduled to hold next week in Abuja, adding that Ihedioha's desperation led to mass exodus in the party each time he clinches the party's governorship ticket while advising that Labor Party will be willing to receive defectors from the party in the event of the party failing to resolve the internal dispute in PDP.

Sir Henry Igbokwe has always used his office to support Umu Ikeduru in various ways. Loans, Employments, Scholarships, Provision of Admissions, Yearly Children parties, Empowerment of various kinds etc.

His current ongoing Agro-Revolution Empowerment training in Ikeduru is a clear indication of what he does and will continue to do.

In 2019, Hon. Sir Igbokwe attracted  and coordinated the  grading all the roads in Ikeduru East and some in Ikeduru west from Ikeduru Council (verifiable).

As DG Faith of Darlington Foundation in 2019, 2020, and 2021, He championed FREE JAMB Registration for thousands of Ikeduru sons and daughters and also provided admissions for those who did very well at JAMB exams.(Verifiable). "Aga ekwu ole ghara Ibe ya".

So nde Ikeduru ibem, "asi ihe agba na aka ana yi eji enyo ele ya". It is very Obvious that Hon sir. A strong voice that must be heard at IMHA chamber come 2023

Please let us vote wisely this time. Avoiding money politics and politics of Godfatherism.

As the build up to the 2023 elections gather momentum, the Apex socio political group of the Mbaise Nation, Mbaise Patriots Assembly in a well attended meeting on Sunday, 6th November, 2022 at the Country home of the political leader of Nguru bloc, Barr Anamelechi Aguwa and former Attorney general of Imo state unanimously resolved that the Mbaise people will no longer succumb to the blackmail of a self-centered Mbaise project by a few discredited individuals, whom they described as ultra greedy politicians.

They further stated that anybody who is a true born of Mbaise should know that the rest of Owerri zone have been very benevolent and patient to have given our son, Hon Emeka Ihedioha and by extension our people ( Mbaise nation) two straight opportunities to occupy the seat of the governorship of Imo state in 2015 and 2019.

In a press release issued after the meeting and availed to the media, the Mbaise patriots thanked other components of Owerri zone namely, Owerri - Uratta, Ngor Okpala and Mbaike blocs for overwhelmingly supporting the bid of their son, Hon Emeka Ihedioha on two consecutive occasions to clinch the Imo Douglas House seat.

They further thanked Imolites in general for showing understanding and support in the quest for a governor of Imo from Owerri zone extraction.

They enjoined Nde Owerri and Imolites in general to disregard any call for Mbaise governorship project in 2023, as it's self serving, unduly parochial and unreasonable at this time.

They promised to lead a vigorous charge built on negotiation, persuasion and diplomacy to the people of okigwe and Orlu, seeking their continued understanding to realise the noble ambition of producing an Imo governor of Owerri zone extraction in 2023.

- as party chieftains, candidates grumble over imposition as official restaurant of the party

- " candidates of the party must patronize the restaurant or risk sanction"

- Obideint members advised to keep off Hungry-Man Restaurant

By Promise Omole

The ever busy popular restaurant owned by the Imo PDP state chapter chairman, Engr Charles Ugwu, Hungry-Man Restaurant have been deserted by customers who patronize the eateries over irregular meetings cum campaigns held on daily basis inside the restaurant.

Our correspondent gathered that the restaurant in past five months had suddenly turned to Imo state PDP annex as sensitive administrative duties are now carried out in reserved sections of the restaurant located at No. 2 Musa Yar'dua Way, New Owerri.

It was also learnt that the brand new Jeep acquired by the party for the chairman is seen parked in front of the Hungry Man restaurant daily confirming the fact that the Chairman does most of his administrative duties at the eateries.

Investigation carried out by our correspondent revealed that the Chairman in connivance with some egg heads of the Imo PDP state working committee unilaterally approved Hungry-Man restaurant as the official restaurant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state and mandated chieftains of the party particularly the candidates of the party for the 2023 general election to hold their political meetings in the restaurant.

According to a party chieftain who pleaded on condition of anonymity told our reporter that the directive by the state working committee to candidates of the party to always patronize Hungry-Man did not go down well with them following the high cost of items in the restaurant.

Continuing, the source revealed that candidates who flout such directives from the state working committee risks sanctions as the party's Campaign Council will not visit their LGAs during their Campaign tour.

It was also learnt that most of the donations realised from the party's fund raising are distributed at the restaurant.

Furthermore, customers and members of opposition political parties particularly

'Obidients'  supporters in Owerri had since the conversion of Hungry-Man restaurant to Imo state PDP's Campaign office deserted the eateries for fear of their lives as they maybe targeted for poisoning by the PDP candidates if they keep patronising the restaurant.

Meanwhile, our roving reporter while speaking to one of the waiter's at the restaurant, she said that all those people shouting Obidient in the state should not come close to Hungry-Man restaurant and if they insist they will be mercilessly dealt with.

Also, some friendly customers now avoid the restaurant for fear of mob action since the environment is always tensed up occasioned by regular outburst from sharing of largesse from political party meetings.

Contrary to insinuations that the saboteur comment against Ndigbo by a former Deputy Speaker of House of Representative, Emeka Ihedioha has been wrestled over his purported apology, it is worthy to note that such callous insipid will continue to generate reactions.

Social Analysts had posited that Emeka Ihedioha has a resemblance of Senator Uche Ekwunife who in different fora described the agitation by Biafran apologists as a mere waste of time.

Ihedioha had few months ago while addressing Ndigbo in America, warned them against supporting Mr Peter Obi, the only known Igbo son in the 2023 Presidential race.

As usual, Ihedioha was confronted for his action in America; no doubt, he denied totally because there was no video evidence to buttress the allegation.

Three months after his embarrassing comment against Ndigbo in America, Ihedioha still repeated his disgust and hatred against Ndigbo, now with startling evidence to nail him.

This time, it was in Ghana, while addressing Mbaise people, Ihedioha warned Ndigbo from voting Mr Peter Obi, noting that anyone who dare supports or votes him will be seen as a saboteur.

Looking at the current and previous comments of Ihedioha and his close friend, Senator Ekwunife, a core Igbo person will not struggle to identify the real saboteurs in the midst of the Igbo race.

Now listen, Ihedioha came from House of Representative to the Douglas House, Imo state, but due to his internal hatred against the Igbo soil, the gods did not waste time to boot him out unceremoniously.

For Senator Ekwunife, she has struggled from House of Representative to the Senate, yet all her efforts to clinch the number one position in Anambra state was resisted by the gods.

The saboteur comment of Ihedioha and the “waste of time” struggle for the sovereignty of the Biafra credited to Senator Ekwunife are the highest insults Ndigbo had received in recent time.

The question remains, what shall Ndigbo do with these two ingrates who after benefiting from our land, turned back and stabbed the hand that fed them.

In a well structured clime, the kind of Ihedioha and Ekwunife will be ostracized for committing a serious taboo against the soil that binds them.

The disturbing flood menace in the city of Owerri, the Imo state capital is a problem yet to be solved.

This is after the state government claimed to have invested millions in the construction of an underground balloon to check mate and contain the flood.

Painfully, residents of Chukwuma Nwoha, Aladinma, Prefab and Housing Estate axis are devastated that they sleep with one eye closed especially, when there is a heavy down pour in the city.

The questions social Analysts are asking is whether there is a hidden secret the state government has not told its citizens. This is after the said underground balloon was commissioned by a top APC government functionary from Abuja last year.

While this article is not meant to attack government or any sector involved, but will serve as a probing pointer to whom it may concern if there is still a hidden truth yet to be aware by the citizens regarding the ill fated balloon project.

It is presently annoying and embarrassing too that the flood menace is not only witnessed around Chukwuma Nwoha, Aladinma, Prefab and Housing Estate axis, but a monster that has eaten deep into the fabrics of every adjoining routes and locations in Owerri, the state capital and the state at large.

From Orji, Mbieri road, down to Akwakuma, Amakohia, World bank area, to adjoining streets in Owerri town to Egbu road, through Douglas, Okigwe roads to Mbari and Bank road, close to Government House, amongst others, the pathetic and disturbing story has remained the same.

Given the background of the whole scenario, one wonders why virtually all the enclaving routes or locations in Owerri is submerged by the surging flood without both the previous and present government doing anything to remedy the situation.

Social Analysts or pundits had opined that most internal and external structures put in place by the administration of Dr Samuel Mbakwe for the purposes of controlling flood related issues in the state was either destroyed or catered away by successive governments.

This is to say the least that Imo state nay, Owerri that used to be the cleanest city in Nigeria with consecutive awards has become a laughing stock today.

A city rescued and retransformed by the likes of Barr Willie Amadi of Clean and Green Initiative has become the cynosure of negative imprint in the eyes of the world for reasons yet to be told.

It is remarkable to note that one of the cardinal objectives of any healthy and virile administration is to create good working and healthy environment for the citizens; but what is obtainable today, is indeed an irony of excellence.

Curious citizens are of the view that things have fallen apart; and the government has tried its highest best without tangible results. Another set of pundits posit that going by the muteness of the current government to the plight of its citizens, it seems that the whole situation has overwhelmed the APC administration, and therefore suggested the need for an urgent external assistance.

It is on the records that bad and unhealthy environment breeds and encourages both endemic and pandemic diseases. The solution to this imminent outbreak of disease in the state is a problem government should find immediate and final solution without further delay.

Construction of roads is good, building of infrastructures is good also, and dredging of Orashi river is absolutely in order, but rescuing residents from the current flood quagmire and endemic catastrophe is indeed, what the citizens are yearning for.

By so doing, we shall be expecting Imo of our collective dreams!

By: Ik Ogbonna.

As the search for the next governor of Imo State gradually heats up, various groups have been intensifying the search for a man who can lead Imo State into uncommon prosperity and development such as was witnessed under Dee Sam Mbakwe and in other states like Ebonyi, Rivers, Anambra, Lagos of recent.

Political leaders with the passion for selfless service are rare gifts from God and very difficult to find in our clime and time. Many political analysts and pundits so far have recommended men fresh ideas and pedigree that can steer Imo out of its current quagmire.

Based on the qualities recommended so far, it’s gradually becoming clearer where the pendulum is swinging to. One man is clearly and undoubtedly endowed with the unbeatable qualities and credentials to clean the rot of leadership deficit in Imo State, and he is SENATOR SAMUEL NNAEMEKA ANYANWU (Samdaddy).

Born on 18th June, 1965 in Amaimo Ikeduru LGA of Imo State. SamDaddy, as he is fondly called had his primary education at Central School Amaimo before proceeding to Amaimo High School. Samuel Anyanwu later proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt where he studied Political Science and Administrative Studies.

The political sojourn of SamDaddy started in 2003 with his appointment as Transition Committee Chairman of Ikeduru LGA. In 2004, he was elected Executive Chairman of Ikeduru LGA and Secretary of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). Owing to his superlative performance as Council Chairman, he was christened “ACTION” by his colleagues and fans for his leadership wonders.

SamDaddy was elected into Imo State House of Assembly in 2007 and was appointed the House Committee Chairman on Ethics and Privileges. He was re-elected for a second tenure in 2011.

The people of Owerri zone saw the sterling legislative qualities of SamDaddy as a state legislator and decided to promote him to the Senate during the 2015 general elections. A rare feat in Imo State yet to be beaten till date. Samdaddy is a jinx breaker.

In the Senate, SamDaddy’s legislative experience earned him Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics,  Privileges and Public Petitions where he performed excellently. This Committee never thrived until Samdaddy chaired it no minding the fact that he was a first timer then. But again, Samdaddy broke the jinx as a first time Senator to head such a sensitive Committee. He was also Vice Chairman of three different Senate Committees where he brought his leadership qualities to bear.

The legislative experience of SamDaddy earned him the National Assembly Press Corps “Best Senate Committe Chairman Award” in 2016. SamDaddy has won several awards in recognition of his outstanding performance in leadership and development which are too numerous to mention.

In a bid to ensure good governance and development in Owerri zone, the South East and Nigeria at large, the following BILLS were sponsored by Senator SamDaddy:

1. Bill for an Act to Establish the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

2.Bill for an Act to Establish Postgraduate Physiotherapy College of Nigeria

4. A Re-Enactment Bill on the Public Complaints Commission Act, CAP P37 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

5. A Bill for an Act to Establish The Federal Task Force on Revenue Defaulters, Piracy and National Heritage Protection of Nigeria.

Senator SamDaddy has also sponsored the following MOTIONS on the floor of the Senate:

1. Passing a vote of confidence on the leadership of the 8th Senate. A landmark motion which stabilized the squabbles that engulfed the Senate following the emergence of Bukola Saraki of APC, as President and Ike Ekweremadu of PDP, as Deputy Senate President contrary to the wishes of APC leadership.

2. Mandating State Governors to conduct Local Government Elections on assumption of office.

3. The urgent need for the Senate to look into the Amnesty Programme Performance in the Niger Delta region (Imo state inclusive as oil producing state)

4. The Looming crises in the Aviation Industry, a potential danger to Air safety and operations.

5. The pertinent need to Establish Modern Abattoirs across the states of the Federation.

These outstanding legislative performance cum constituency projects facilitated by Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu indicates a man that never sleeps on duty. He alive and committed to the service of God almighty, and as well as the well being of his people through sponsorship of quality bills and motions. He ensured equitable distribution of his constituency projects in the form social amenities and infrastructures to the communities that make up his constituency. In the area of jobs and empowerment, Senator he ensured that every community in his constituency benefited. This is the kind of man Imolites are yearning for; a man who will see the whole of Imo State as his constituency.

Today, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu is the National Secretary of PDP and he has been working tirelessly to strengthen the party in Imo State and Nigeria by wooing more people into the party. As at today, the PDP has been properly projected and positioned to assume the presidency in the next general election.

During his grand civic reception as PDP National Secretary in Owerri, the mood of the mammoth crowd that gathered in his honour spoke volumes; the billboards, banners and placards everywhere “spoke” louder. The overwhelming joy in Imo State on that day indicates that Imolites are really awaiting the emergence of SamDaddy. They need his sterling leadership qualities to clean the rot of bad governance that’s currently stinking in all parts of Imo State.

Yes, many well meaning Imolites have been calling on Senator SamDaddy to listen to the yearnings of Imolites and make himself available for this all important task of pulling Imo out of the current quagmire and leadership vacuum, corruption and bad leadership.

Imolites will continue to pray until SamDaddy answers the clarion call to lead Imo out of the woods.

Yes, SamDaddy can!

It’s not out of place to say he is the governor Imo State is searching for in 2024.

SamDaddy was an ACTION CHAIRMAN,  VIBRANT LEGISLATOR, OUTSTANDING NATIONAL SECRETARY, STATESMAN, PATRIOT & PROGRESSIVE POLITICIAN. Honestly, Imo can be great Imo with SamDaddy!

~ Ask Him to perish his ambition of returning as Imo governor

By Dr. Ik Dozie

Recently, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha stirred the Hornets’ nest in the USA when he addressed Igbo Community there on the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria. In a bid to impress his party and outstage Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu for the Imo PDP Guber ticket.  He decided to throw the interest of his Igbo people under the bus. The green cap man threw caution to the wind and publicly urinated on the Presidential ambition of his fellow Igbo man, Mr Peter Obi.

The desperate Ihedioha cannot claim ignorance of the mood of Igbos with regards to the forthcoming presidential election. As expected, there was uproar against his unkind statements on Peter Obi’s presidential ambition. But the ever merciful Igbos forgave him, thinking that excessive consumption of alcohol led him to open his mouth so wide against his people. So, Igbos waited patiently for Ihedioha to retract his foul statements against his people but he didn’t. Instead of retracting his statement and apologizing to Igbos, Ihedioha unleashed his attack dogs on Imolites who tried to call him back to his normal senses. So, all his social media warriors attacked virtually everyone who tried to disagree with his aspersions on Igbos. So, Ihedioha refused to atone for his sins against Igbos and retrace his steps. Ihedioha allowed selfish interest to becloud his senses of reasoning by gallivanting and castigating Peter Obi out of desperation to impress his Fulani master, Atiku Abubakar. So, Ihedioha took the forgiving spirit of Igbos for granted and refused to stop sabotaging the interest of Igbos which Peter Obi represents.

Some weeks ago, Ihedioha travelled to Ghana for new yam festival of Igbos in that Country. As expected, Ihedioha failed to guard his tongue while in Ghana. Out of his desperation to impress his the PDP to position himself as her Candidate, Ihedioha grabbed the microphone with hands in his pocket and said that only two political parties, APC and PDP are contesting the Presidency. He also said that the only route an Igbo man can become president Atiku’s victory. So, Ihedioha said that:

“any Igbo man who supports any other party except PDP is a saboteur”.

Ihedioha was mindful of the mass movement that’s currently driving Peter Obi’s presidential ambition and he maliciously decided to spit on such a movement that’s giving Igbos a bright chance of winning the presidency. Ihedioha shamelessly insulted Igbos who are currently in high spirit for a Peter Obi presidency to vote for Atiku and wait for another 8yrs when he will hand over to an Igbo man. What a satanic statement!

Few days after Ihedioha urinated on the cause of Igbos in Ghana, our roving reporters went round Imo State to know the feelings of Imolites. It was a huge shock to see how angry people are with Ihedioha. Our reporters discovered that Ihedioha’s anti-Igbo statement in Ghana has cost him his political career.

Most people that were interviewed by our reporters in Mbaise, Owerri, Orlu, Ideato, Oguta, Mbano and Okigwe declared Ihedioha an enemy of Igbo land and an embarrassment to the PDP. A good number of the people interviewed thanked the Supreme Court for sacking him from office in 2020. They regretted the support they gave him during the 2019 Imo governorship election and asked him to perish his ambition 2023 governorship ambition since he can’t support his own brother to become President.  In the words of one Mbano man, “Ihedioha has defecated on his manhood and has therefore offended the gods of the land; he is finished politically”. Another man from Mbaise, his hometown said, “Ihedioha thinks that he is smart but he is not; he has offended the gods by insulting Igbos in Ghana. He has successfully buried his political career in Imo State; as for now, he can go to Arochukwu in Abia State and contest anything he likes”.

On realizing the damage he has done to his political career in Imo State, Ihedioha and his handlers have been struggling and sweating to do  damage control. His media aide has issued an epileptic press release, denying the obvious. His social media warriors and data boys have been sweating in many WhatsApp platforms to save him from political death. Ihedioha himself has gone to Channels TV to refute his aspersions on Igbos but it seems the damage has already been done. It was reliably gathered by our WhatsApp correspondents that all efforts to wash off the "he-goat" odour from Ihedioha have failed woefully.

Below are some of the reactions of Imolites on various WhatsApp platforms:

According to one Chris Agoha, “ Has Ihedioha helped himself? My answer is no. Recall that he was in the USA a little while ago. He vomited a few things against the candidature of Peter Obi. The uproar against his comments should have made him retrace his steps. But alas, he dropped another bombshell recently in Ghana. Some of his handlers are now trying to do some damage control as if people are fools. He has not done himself any favour at all. Why is it that some of our politicians like to cry more than the bereaved? Why is Ihedioha trying to be more vocal about Atiku’s presidency than the northerners if not to position himself as per eye Service for PDP ticket?  People are more enlightened and there is a limit to being zombies. This generation has the capacity to think independently. Ihedioha is fast losing people's sympathy and it won't be easy for him again. Trust me”.

Also, one Benny Ibe said, “Can’t Ihedioha’s handlers advise him to desist from campaigning against Peter Obi? Don’t they know the threat his utterances pose to his nosediving governorship ambition? In 2015 and 2019, it was a crime for any Mbaise man to campaign against Ihedioha. And Ihedioha enjoyed it then. Today, it has become a crime for any Igbo man to campaign against Peter Obi. But Ihedioha is frowning”. Let’s see how it goes”.

According to one Akachi Eustace, “Ihedioha has benefited severally from “Operation support your brother” campaign. So, he lacks the moral fibre to campaign against his brother. Ihedioha won’t enjoy peace until we perish his ambition" When asked to respect Ihedioha’s freedom of choice,  he thundered, “But did Ihedioha respect the rights of Mbaise people who decided not to support him during the 2015 and 2019 governorship elections"?

Another person with the name, Nze Akajiaku said, “Let Ihedioha come and be governor again, let’s see. Since Igbos are not yet matured for the Presidency, Mbutu is not yet matured for the governorship seat of Imo; Simple “.

A Mbaise man, Chidi Ugo while fuming over the deceptive press release of Ihedioha’s media aide on the issue said, “Stop saying nonsense; we have watched the video and listened to his speech. While Peter Obi was in PDP, did he enjoy Ihedioha's support? Did Emeka Ihedioha support any presidential aspirant from the southeast in PDP as a proof that he's not against the interest of the Igbos? Ihedioha is a selfish politician who believes that it is only him that will determine the fate of the southeast. Since he believes in his party more than in his people, we have learnt to pay him back in his own coin. Let's NEVER hear anything like "MBAISE AGENDA " from anyone again in  Mbaise land”.

Another Mbaise man, Ikenna Edoziem said, “We won't let Ihedioha have peace after urinating on the collective interest of Igbos; he won’t have peace because he's a product of Mbaise mass movement. We gave him massive support not because he is a nice guy but because we wanted to use him break a jinx. Unlike others, he campaigned with our collective strength and funds. Today, he sees himself as a super hero, forgetting that he is a disappointment to the Mbaise nation. Let’s see how he will end”.

According to a source close to the embattled green cap politician, he is really heartbroken and has refused to eat anything because of the decision of Imolites to punish him severely.

All efforts by our correspondent to reach the embattled former governor proved abortive as his line was switched off and he is yet to respond to the text messages sent to him as at press time.

It’s yet to be ascertained if the embattled former governor has called off his hunger strike or not.
