Former Special Adviser on Political Affairs to Vice President Kashim Shettima, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, says he resigned because he was idle and unwilling to earn a salary without working.

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting, currently being held behind closed doors on Tuesday, comes amid the gale of defections sweeping through the ranks and strongholds of the opposition party as well as the internal crisis that have plagued the PDP.

Last week, PDP’s former vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, and the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

They collapsed the opposition party’s structure in Delta as the Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, state commissioners, local government chairmen, and the state’s grassroots machinery all moved en bloc to the APC after a closed-door meeting in Asaba.

DRTS Director Abdulateef Bello added that the move aims to deter traffic violations and curb the growing use of motorcycles in criminal activities across the capital.

E-Money was arrested Monday night at his Lagos residence for violating the Foreign Exchange Act. Reacting on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest praised E-Money’s recent contributions to the South-East and claimed the arrest was an attempt to suppress his growing influence.

He encouraged E-Money to stay strong, saying, “This will only make you stronger—just like our Rolls Royce.”

The FCT Police Command has arrested eight suspected car snatchers and recovered three stolen vehicles in separate operations.

Among those arrested was Blessing Yusuf, who confessed to buying “Toyota master keys” on Jumia to aid her husband’s car thefts. She was apprehended days after her husband, Yusuf Yunusa, was arrested over a stolen Toyota Corolla at the Federal Secretariat.

In another case, five suspects were arrested in Life Camp with a stolen Mercedes-Benz traced to Lekki, Lagos. Separately, a driver who fled with his employer’s Toyota Hilux was tracked to Akwa Ibom and arrested while trying to sell the vehicle.

Police say all suspects are in custody and will face charges after investigations.
