It is said in Igbo adage that an elder can not stay at home watching a nanny goat delivering with umbilical cord tied on its kid. People of Imo state, Nigeria who know the notorious and serial blackmailer, Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke can not stay akimbo watching whilst the self exiled mad dog selling her treacherous services with murderous boldness. Her infamous trademark is all over the recent issue on Natasha/Akpabio. It is laughable that some Nigerians are taking her serious.

Any social and political observer in Imo state who has been following events especially, during the early days of Rochas Okorocha's government will not be surprised to read what Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke spilling out on daily basis on the case of Natasha/ Akpabio for the fact that the said Sandra Duru is infamous as a notorious blackmailer whose stock in trade is to malign and tarnish the image of public office holders with brutality and covert fiscal concerns.

With sense of responsibility and decency in the public sphere, it is pertinent for those in Nigeria and global arena to know the character of the notorious Prof Mgbeke they have been analysing her contents in the recent times on the issue of Natasha/Akpabio because if people actually know the repugnant character of Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke nobody will take her serious and even cannot be reading her content on any subject matter.

To whom it may concern, Ms Sandra Duru is a mercantile baby mama of different men on a low key. She targets men in high places and hook them up for fun in order to produce amorous evidences for blackmailing purposes. She had destroyed different homes in Imo state before she escaped to Lagos enroute to United States as security agents were trailing her. She can't return home again over her atrocious activities.

Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke always throw caution to the wind as she plies her blackmailing trade. She had in several occasions accused some politicians in Imo state of embezzlement, homosexuality and incest with fabricated evidences like she did to Sen Natasha. She is a pathological and bold liar who once accused one of her ex husbands of being a sexual partner with another man who was then the deputy governor of Imo state, Eze Madumere. All these are in public domain.

To butress the madness and treacherous lifestyle of Ms Sandra Duru aka Prof Mgbeke, she had gone extreme to the extent of tendering projected and fabricated image that suggested that her ex husband, Hon Uche Rajis was on top of the then Imo deputy governor in a sexual position as she claimed that she caught the dou pant down.

Our sister, Sandra Duru has no character and her lies against Sen. Natasha must have been in line with her known lying and fabrication attitude, hence she shouldn't be taken very seriously.

We wish to encourage Sen. Natasha to go about her case with evidences at her disposal, and never be distracted by the rantings by our mad sister who is known for such stupidity.

Ms Sandra Duru ought to have long ago hidden her face in debris of shame but unfortunately she is shameless even at the point she was disowned by her own parents, she continues to bring shame to her brothers and sisters over material gains. On this note, one of her daughters had once publicly denounced her mother for her frivolities and low life. It is on record that she had once accused a public figure of sexually molesting her daughter without verifiable evidence and the matter was taken up by security agents before she escaped to United States.

Members of the public will be routinely updated with verifiable evidences the unholy activities of the recalcitrant and treacherous woman who because of glutton and material gains bore different children for different men and has continued to live a controversial life with a dead conscience without recourse to her future.

In furtherance to addressing the madness of Prof Mgbeke my sister this time, security agents will be notified in Nigeria so that they will work in synergy with FBI to see if Sandra Duru will be arrested and deported to Nigeria to face the alleged multiple criminal cases she had incurred before escaping to United States. The time is ticking.

Our attention has been drawn to recent antagonistic statements on the social media against the Distinguished Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by a certain SANDRA DURU, who also goes by the alliance of "Prof Mgbeke"

Women, it has been said, are the greatest enemies to themselves, not men.

Behind the every fall of a woman, there's always another woman.

While this is not in anyway mobilizing supports for the Kogi Senator, it has become important as kinsmen of the mad man dancing naked in the market square to notify the public that our brother is mad.

Nigerians, including the world over know what Sen. Natasha has been battling the past few months, but not many knew that Sandra Duru had equally fought and battled almost the same kind of "victimization" before she escaped to the United States where she presently resides and started her life all over again.

Known for her controversial dispositions, laced with lies, blackmails and propaganda, Imo people saw the brutality employed by Sandra Duru in fighting the government of Sen. Rochas Okorocha's Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere many years ago. We read all her claims against the Prince, including promoting him as a homosexual. 

In her desperation to gain recognition from just nowhere and doing just nothing within the political sphere, Sandra Duru jumped into dating high profile men in every government. She even had to move into the home of a former aide to Gov. Rochas Okoorocha - Hon. Uche Rajis, and had babies for him just to be around corridors of power. But when the young Rajis was removed, Sandra Duru escaped with her children, accusing her young husband too homosexual practices.

Sandra Duru's dirty lifestyle and desperations while in Nigeria had brought her in conflict with who is who in Imo State, that she can't easily enter the state, yet this is a young lady who desperately wants to have political relevance by all means.

Ever since she escaped to the US, Sandra Duru has not stopped fighting and blackmailing people. Her first fight in the US on arrival was against the woman who helped her relocate. She raised hundreds of lies against the woman just to make sure that she does not pay the balance for her paper packaging.

Sandra Duru has been isolated and avoided by all because of her notorious lifestyles. She has been silently living in the US without recognition and references, except the occasional comments she receives from some sympathizers on her Facebook page. 

When recently the crises between Sen. Natasha and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio started, it was Sandra Duru who struggled to reach out to Sen. Natasha. She requested from the Kogi Senator for some funds to enable her raise a Women-for-Women campaign against Sen. Akpabio. She also demanded for some cash in dollars to enable her fly to Nigeria, and mobilize some women to occupy the National Assembly for Natasha. 

Sandra Duru claimed she had the contact to mobilize over 500 popular women in Nigeria; a claim the Senator later discovered was not true, and thereafter jettisoned her.

Sen. Natasha later got the free support of Mrs Oby Ezekwesili who even attended the National Assembly Investigative Committee of the Senate to defend Sen. Natasha; an action that has now infuriated the Mgbeke Prof.

On realizing that she has been avoided by Sen. Natasha, and has continued to be snubbed, "Prof Mgbeke" got angry, and started making moves to gain the acceptance of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio through her recent attacks on Sen. Natasha.

This explanation has become necessary so that people will clearly understand the insincerity on the part of Sandra Duru. Her claims against Sen. Natasha were all lies which we all know her with. She is operating from an angle of a wounded lioness and a deflated ego.

To her, Sandra Duru, not Oby Ezekwesili should have led women for Natasha.

This is therefore, for the benefit of those who do not know her. As she daily photoshops herself on her Facebook page with different pictorial images, so also is her nature. A lady of many dangerous faces and characters. Believe her at your peril.

In recent weeks, one of the radio stations in Owerri, Imo State capital, owned and operated by a former Senator from Owerri zone, Sen. Chris Anyanwu has been promoting hate speeches, selling fake and unverifiable narratives against the government of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, Onwa, with a view to inciting Imolites against the governor and his government come 2027 guber election.

The station owner uses the sports program on her station which she allocated two stretch hours, splitting between morning and evening daily, with a certain Solomon Onu, as her attack dog/presenter.

Funny enough, and incidentally, the said Solomon Onu who is the Media Officer of Heartland FC of Owerri, and earns salaries approved by the government, also acts as a spy on the 3R government of Sen. Hope Uzodinma, and involves in shady deals with Imo athletes. 

As a member of the Heartland FC's management team, Onu uses his involvement in the club to sale out to the public and opponent clubs, most loopholes in the Owerri FC and the state's sports sector in the name of journalism; a situation that has affected the Club's performances in recent months.

Through his program, Hot FM Sports on radio, Solomon Onu presents to his listeners imaginary anomalies around the Imo sporting community, the ministry of sports, and the role of Governor Hope Uzodinma which he has often described as "criminal" and "negligence".

For example, some members of the former Management team of the Heartland FC of Owerri had sometime early last year, petitioned the Ministry of Sports in Imo state, exposing evidences of defamatory speeches made on air and elsewhere by this same Solomon Onu against His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma and the government of Imo State. 

Asked their punitive actions taken against Solomon Onu, the management hinted that his salary payment was suspended by the then management team led by Mr. Promise Nwachukwu. 

It took persistent appeals and apologies with undertaking to be of good behaviors for Onu to be subsequently reconsidered and his salary payments restored. 

That management team was later ended under the leadership of the current commissioner for Sports, Mr. Obinna Onyeocha, and Onu was sent back to Hot FM.

Now upon his appointment as the Technical Manager of the Heartland FC, and following lies, gossips and propaganda sold him by likes of Solomon Onu, Coach Emmanuel Amunike, mfr, was deceived into reappointing Solomon Onu into his Management Team as the Media Officer; a position that requires him to promote the image of his team and the provider of his daily meals. 

But feeling head high, indispensable and important, Solomon would return to the radio station of his first pay mistress and be reeling out lies and fake stories to the public, all with intent to discredit the government of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.

This, he has been successfully doing on daily bases, ranting and inciting his listeners with lies nowhere closer to reality.

For instance, in his morning broadcast of Thursday, 8th of April, 2025, Solomon alleged that the government of Sen. Hope Uzodinma, through the Ministry of Sports had raised proposal of about N300m waiting to be siphoned, while athletes preparing for the National Sports Festival were yet to go into camp.

Solomon who does not know the workings of government in Imo, especially with the security challenges which had adversely affected government operations in the state has made himself the propaganda machine and spokesman of desperate opposition politicians, working day and night to discredit the 3R administration of Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma has personally received the Torch for the National Sports Festival, and assured our athletes of their attendance to the festival.

The ministry of Sports through the Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha is following up on ensuring that the governor, who of cause has other pressing issues in the state on his head, gives a final nod to the participation of the state to the festival. Neither the Ministry of Sports nor the Commissioner has the final say over the movement of any Imo athlete to camp or to the festival, and whenever this approval comes, the needful shall be done.

This, therefore, is coming as a caution, as well as an advise, to the likes of Solomon Onu, to remain professional and unbiased wherever and whenever journalism is involved, as Possession of mouth, access to radio station and rabble-rousing do not actually define a good OAP. 

Going forward, we the Concerned Imo sporting community in the pen profession shall no longer sit by, and watch criminals and opposition agents parading as journalists using the profession to incite Imolites against the government.

Sen. Chris Anyanwu, Hot FM, Emmanuel Amunike, Heartland FC, SWAN Imo State, DSS should please note.

Imo State Govt Partners Ibadan Botanical Doping Research Group to Sensitize Athletes on Indigenous Substance Use

In a landmark initiative aimed at promoting clean sports, the Imo State Government, through the Ministry of Sports, has partnered with the Ibadan Botanical Doping Research Group—an academic team from the University of Ibadan—to sensitize athletes on the dangers of doping, including the use of indigenous herbs and roots that may trigger positive doping results.

The sensitization workshop, held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, brought together athletes from across the state ahead of the upcoming National Sports Festival. The session focused on a unique form of doping termed “Optotomous Botanical Supplement Doping,” a name coined by the research group to describe the use of locally-sourced herbs and roots believed to enhance athletic performance.

Speaking to The Statesman Newspaper after the event, Honourable Obinna Everistus Onyeocha, Imo State Commissioner for Sports, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to drug-free sports.

“Governor Hope Uzodimma himself, a former President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, has always been at the forefront of promoting clean sports,” Onyeocha stated. “His deep-rooted involvement in athletics underscores our zero-tolerance policy towards doping. Our athletes must always strive to compete clean. Substance abuse not only damages careers but also tarnishes the image of our great state. With the right education and discipline, I believe Imo athletes will continue to represent us with honor and integrity.”

Also addressing the press, Honourable Chief Ogbonna Eze, Special Adviser to the Governor on Narcotics, emphasized the administration’s strong stance against drug abuse.

“The research group is partnering with the Imo State Government to enlighten our athletes on substances they must avoid to prevent testing positive in doping screenings. His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has significantly reduced drug abuse in Imo State, making history as the first governor to appoint an SA on Narcotics. The fight against dangerous substances is ongoing, and we welcome any initiative that strengthens this cause,” Eze noted.

Dr. (Mrs.) Peggy-Joe Olaseyinde, head of the Ibadan Botanical Doping Research Group, shared insights into their mission, describing their work as critical in uncovering the hidden dangers of commonly-used indigenous herbs and roots.

“We are a group of researchers investigating Optotomous Botanical Supplement Doping, which is essentially a baptismal name for the indigenous herbs and roots widely consumed in our society. Athletes often believe avoiding known banned substances is enough to stay safe, without realizing that certain African herbs can also result in a positive doping test,” she explained.

“These herbs and roots are often synthesized into modern drugs, making them potentially dangerous when misused. That’s why we’re going around sensitizing athletes and the public. We appreciate the collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and hope the partnership continues so we can keep spreading awareness.”

The initiative marks a proactive step in safeguarding the future of sports in Imo State and ensuring that athletes are well-informed about all potential doping risks—including those that may stem from traditional, indigenous sources.

The Cardinals gathered in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel have elected Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the 267th Pope, who took the name Pope Leo XIV.

Congratulations to the body of Christ. 

Habemus Papam! 

White smoke billowed from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel on Thursday, signalling that cardinals locked inside have elected a new leader for the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics. Thousands of pilgrims and curious onlookers in St Peter’s Square cheered and applauded as the smoke appeared and bells began to ring, indicating the 2,000-year-old institution has its 267th pope.

All eyes now turn to the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica, to see who has been elected to succeed Pope Francis, an Argentine reformer who died last month after 12 years as leader of the worldwide Church. The new pontiff will be introduced in Latin with his chosen papal name and address the world for the first time. He faces a momentous task: as well as asserting his moral voice on a conflict-torn global stage, he faces burning Church issues from the continued fall-out from the sexual abuse scandal to the Vatican’s troubled balance sheets.

Some 133 “Princes of the Church” from five continents — the largest conclave ever — began voting on Wednesday afternoon. Sworn to secrecy, on pain of excommunication, their only means of communicating their progress to the outside world was by sending up smoke through the chimney of the Sistine Chapel. On Wednesday evening and then again on Thursday lunchtime, the smoke was black, emitting disappointed sighs from the tens of thousands watching.

But on Thursday afternoon just after 6pm (1600 GMT) the smoke emitted was white, confirming that the Catholic Church has a new spiritual leader. By tradition, he now enters the Room of Tears — where freshly-elected popes give free rein to their emotions — to don a papal cassock for the first time, before returning to the Sistine Chapel so the cardinals can pledge their obedience. He will then appear on the balcony along with a senior cardinal, who will announce to the waiting crowds “Habemus Papem” (“We have a pope”).

The pope will then give a short speech and impart his first “Urbi et Orbi” (“To the City and the World”) blessing.
