The All Progressives Congress in the Egbu ward, Owerri
North Local Government Area of Imo State , has suspended
the Commissioner for Agriculture , Petroleum and
Environment , Udo Agoha.
The decision was contained in a resolution signed by
Chairman , Osuji Oguoma ; vice chairman , Nathaniel
Uzodinma ; secretary , James Oparaegwu ; and other
executive members , a copy of which was obtained by our
correspondent on Wednesday .
The party accused the commissioner and one Ukachi Eboh , of
taking part in “ illegal and disruptive activities . ”
The resolution also accused the embattled commissioner of
calling meetings of the ward without obtaining the
permission of the leadership of the party , saying the meetings
were targeted at destabilising APC in the ward.
The resolution was addressed to Governor Rochas Okorocha .
Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday , the
commissioner described his suspension from the party as
“ null, void and of no legal effect.”
According to him, one of the signatories in the resolution, one
Comfort Chiji , is dead , asking how the dead could sign a
document .
Aguoha said he incurred the wrath of the chairman and the
secretary because of his insistence that the 45 bags of rice
given to the ward by the governor should be shared
equitably to the electorate .
He said the chairman and secretary had requested to take
one bag of rice each , but he insisted that according to the
directive of the governor , the bags of rice should be shared to
every member of the party in the ward.
He denied working for senator Ifeanyi Araraume who is a
strong contender for the 2019 governorship election in the
state , saying , “ he ( Araraume ) has not discussed his ambition
with me .
“ He has not called me on the phone . I am only in good term
with his son who is my fellow commissioner "
