Customs Seize Military Gear, Smuggled Goods Worth N1.5bn

The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted smuggled military equipment, drugs, and other prohibited items worth over N1.5 billion in Lagos and other parts of the Southwest.

The seizures include ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests, cannabis, Tramadol, used tyres, vehicles, and over 2,000 bags of foreign rice. Seven suspects were arrested.

Customs credited the success to intelligence-sharing with other security agencies, vowing to sustain the crackdown on economic saboteurs.
