In a renewed effort to enhance youth development through sports, the Imo State chapter of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has officially constituted a new executive board. This move is aimed at building on previous accomplishments while charting a progressive course for youth empowerment through organized sporting activities.
The inauguration of the new executives marks a significant step in reaffirming YSFON’s commitment to grassroots sports development in Imo State and across the southeast region.
Mr. Sunny Ndubuisi Opara, who serves as the National YSFON Vice President and Chairman of the Southeast Zone, retained his position as Chairman of the Imo State chapter. His leadership continuity is expected to provide stability and strategic direction for the federation’s future initiatives.
Also retaining their positions are Mr. Anthony Ebogu as Secretary and Mr. Anthony Ahize as Public Relations Officer (PRO), both of whom have been instrumental in the federation’s past successes.
According to stakeholders, the new executive team was carefully selected to rekindle and strengthen YSFON’s drive toward nurturing young talents and promoting community sports programs.

• Chairman: Sunny Ndubuisi Opara
• Secretary: Anthony Ebogu
• Public Relations Officer (PRO): Anthony Ahize
• Treasurer: Ebere Umeham
• Technical Director: Jonathan Ubanwa
• Organizing Director: Emeka Okoronkwo
• Head Coach: Benbella Onwuchuruba
With the new leadership structure in place, YSFON Imo is poised to scale up its grassroots sports development agenda and create more opportunities for youth participation in various sporting disciplines across the state.
