The Imo state Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Saturday, performed the kick-off ceremony of the Imo state football league, tagged "Imo Super League 2025" at the OISA Stadium, Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state.
The governor was represented by his Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha.
Upon his arrival around noon, Onyeocha was received by the Chairman and founder of OISA Stadium, Hon. Onwubiko and members of the Imo Football Club Owners Association who were in their numbers with their clubs for the opening ceremony.
The first match of the tournament in the Group C fixtures was between the Ave International FC and the OISA FC ended 1:1.
In a brief speech he made on behalf of the state government, Onyeocha acknowledged the roles of Imo football Club owners towards the development of sports in the state, assuring that government of governor Hope Uzodinma would continue to partner with them in the areas of talent hunting and promotion of the game of football.
