The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Peter Obi to resign from the party following his decision to join a political coalition.
In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh, the faction rejected the coalition, labeling its members as “power mongers” and warning that the dream of a “New Nigeria” cannot be realized through recycled politicians. The party also accused Obi of holding secret meetings to woo members and warned that dual allegiance would not be tolerated.
