The Imo Male Football and Basketball Teams participating in the ongoing National Sports Festival In Abeokuta, Ogun State Tuesday, won in their first legs encounters against the Team Yobe State for football, and the host Team Ogun State for Basketball.
In the football encounter, Team Imo crushed their Yobe counterpart with a 3:1 defeat, while in the Men's Basketball, defeated host Ogun State 46:44.
Team Imo will be having their 2nd leg encounter in the men football against Kaduna State on Thursday, 22nd, May, 2025, while the basketball men holds same day against Adamawa State in the Day 3 of the Gateway Games Ogun 2024.
It would be recalled that the festival which commenced with an opening ceremony Sunday at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun state had the Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Kashim Shettima Mustapha GCON as the Special guest. He was accompanied with the Executive Governor Of Imo State, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodinma, among others.
