Following a resit of the 2025 UTME due to technical errors, JAMB reports that over 200,000 additional candidates scored above the 200 mark.
Out of 1.9 million candidates, 565,988 (29.3%) scored 200 and above—up from 24% in 2024—while those scoring below 200 dropped from 1.5 million to about 1.37 million.
The resit involved nearly 380,000 candidates mainly in Lagos and the South-East. JAMB attributed the original errors to faulty server updates.
Overall, the improved results reflect growing familiarity with the CBT format and suggest a positive trend in candidate performance.
