An Abuja High Court has granted former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele bail in the sum of ₦2 billion over alleged property fraud involving 753 duplexes in Abuja.
The EFCC filed an eight-count charge against Emefiele linked to the estate located at Plot 109, Lokogoma District, and billions of naira in suspected illegal accounts. He pleaded not guilty.
Justice Yusuf Halilu ruled in favour of bail, citing previous compliance with court terms. Emefiele must present two Abuja-based sureties with properties valued at ₦2bn. Trial continues July 11.
