FG Converts 100,000 Vehicles to CNG in One Year

The Federal Government has converted over 100,000 vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in one year, up from under 4,000 previously, under the Presidential CNG Initiative.

Programme CEO Michael Oluwagbemi disclosed this in Lagos, highlighting over $1 billion investment, 265 conversion centres, 60 operational refuelling stations, and 10,000 jobs created. The initiative targets 250,000 conversions next, with support from transport unions and firms like Dangote.

He emphasized CNG's safety and economic benefits, while stakeholders called for improved gas supply and infrastructure support.
