Appeal Court: FRSC Has No Power to Seize Licences, Vehicles

The Court of Appeal in Owerri has ruled that the FRSC lacks legal authority to seize drivers’ licences or vehicles without due process.

The judgment upheld an Abia High Court ruling in favour of Dr. Emmanuel Shebbs, who sued the FRSC over a 2020 incident. The court affirmed rights violations and awarded N10 million in damages.
